Large North African red-ware fragment depicting a leaping panther with detailed head and fearsome paws.
Excellent modeling of the musculature and great coat pattern rendered with small circles. On the other end a hound chasing a sheep or goat.
The fragment belongs to the rim of a lanx, a larger and rather rare rectangular platter. The outer edge is decorated with a beaded pattern.

Ancient Roman red terracotta ware from the 2nd-3rd centuries A.D. "Terra sigillata," an offering bowl of typical rounded form, with averted rim, incised with circular lines, resting on a low ring base. This type of red terracotta ware was made throughout the Roman Empire between the 1st and 5th centuries A.D.

"Terra sigillata" is a fine type of Roman ceramic, coveted for its smooth, red slipped finish that emerged around 40 B.C...

This is a 2nd Century Roman Glass, hand blown 2nd century AD. It is thick and heavy, unflawed, no chips or cracks, no hairlines, it has a rounded neck and squre body. Unguentaria used to hold poisonous, caustic oils or ointments and were never smooth sided, to prevent the Roman from grabbing the dangerous oil by mistake. A charming limestone head of a youth. Depicted with a serene expression on his face, oval face with a rounded chin, his hair in thick luscious corkscrew curls brushed forward in short pointed locks. Arching brow above wide heavy-lidded almond shaped eyes with defined upper and lower lids, incised irises and sharp pupils, his fleshly lips above a strong chin.
