Interesting and unusually large decorated bronze tweezer, likely Roman but could be much older, perhaps late bronzeage European.
The tweezer measure 10,8 cm. in lenght and is solidly constructed and finely decorated with lines. Two tiny rivets in the low area. The design is most likely Roman, but the fine execution and the rivets could point to an earlier manifacture date.
Condition: Nice VF, absolutely lovely red-brown patina, but a c. 30% loss at one side.

An interesting large and heavy applique, likely from furniture in bronze, with 4 masks protruding, early Roman style ca. 1st.-2nd. century AD.
With two lion masks at the top and further down a pair of theatre masks also known in abbundance from the oil lamps. These four masks are graduately getting smaller with the first lion mask the largest.

An large and exceptional bronze oil lamp with handle in shape of a leaf and pyramid-shaped, pierced lid. Byzantine, 5th - 6th century A.D.
The lamp is finely engraved and well built. A substantial and very elegant bronze lap with beautifully patinated surfaces. Interestingly, an openwork lid was chosen for it in antiquity, perhaps since it became to hot with a closed tight lid, due to the large size and construction.
