Lot of three very nice bronze antiquities, incl. a dress pin with knobbed head, probably celtic, 3rd. cent. BC, a finely made large amulet of a Bullae in bronze with a loop, and a small intact amulet with a loop depicting Fortuna, both Roman 1st.-3rd. century

Size: 9 cm. for the dress pin, 5,3 cm. for the Bullae and 25 mm. for Fortuna.

Condition: EF, all intact with fine patinas.

A lot of 4 attractive larger size Roman bronze military fibulas, 1st.-3rd. cent. AD.

The lot includes a very nice Roman bow fibula (53 mm. long), perfectly intact, good metal and ring attached to the pin; a Roundel fibula, (diameter 36 mm.) intact; a large bow fibula with intact pin (70 mm.!), small repair, and a Dolphin-shaped fibula, incl. pin (5,1 cm). repaired.

Nice green patinas.

An ancient Roman bronze leg from a large bronze vessel, depicting a feline, with short mane, mouth agape and with ferocious expression. 1 5/8 inches high. Purchased on the New York art market. Said to be from an old Dutch collection.

Authentic, ancient, cast bronze Etruscan hand mirror. It dates back to Etruria (Italy) around 350-200 BC and is in a typical Etruscan form with a tapered stem handle. It is shaped like a circular disc with a slight concave on the reverse and has a pronounced two-stage lip engraved in concentric circles. The lip is also incised with a continuous groove around the rim and adorned with an engraved lobed rosette in the form of a flower head...

A bust of a deity, perhaps Silvanus or Pan(?). With headdress and with a strap over the chest from a quiver with arrows.

Size: 44 mm. tall and weighing 57,5 grams!

Condition: Very Fine for the age and excarvated type! Fine metal, partly cleaned.

Impressive mirror with a completely glossy black patina, very large and with one smooth, polished face and one face with concentric lathe-turned ring along the rim where the mirror is very thick.

Condition: Choice, one of a kind black-green enamel patina.

Size: around 43 mm. for the fibula and 4,5 cm. for the smaller weight.

Rare amuletic pendant in the form of a herm with youthful bust to the top. The slender square section pillar shaped body with lugs to the side. A suspension loop to the back.
Herms were used as boundary markers on roads and borders. They were also placed outside houses to ward off harm or evil. In its amuletic form the herm was associated with fertility and good luck.

With lovely brown and green patina and decorated with perfect concenthric circles. The largest weight 166,48 grams and the smaller 139,50 grams!

Early Roman Imperial Period silver mirror, ca. 1st to 2nd. century BC

Wonderful mirrow either solid silver or a very thick silver plating - we think it's solid silver with some cuprite oxidation on the surface. A very interesting piece and quite attractive!
