Struck, 244 - 249 AD
Impressive bronze sestertius coin, beautifully set in handmade sterling silver wire pendant and guanine leather choker with silver clasp.
The obverse with a powerful portrait of Philip, shown draped, facing right and wearing laurel wreath...
An Islamic seal in a terrific quality and extra large size, probably Persian, c. 17th.-18th. cent. AD or earlier!
Engraved with finely caligraphy, round seal base with a tall domed handle, pierced at the top.
Size: 43 mm. in diameter and 40 mm tall.
Condition: Good Very fine, lovely redish patina.

A nice thick key for a strong-box or treasury chest, c. mid 16th. century.
The key with a large, enforced bit with elaborately carved slots. The stem and the bow of the typical late Gothic design. With much old copper from a coppering in the time of use.
The decoration of Gothic iron locks and keys was often elaborate and of the highest standard of workmanship...
Greek protome with nicely rendered late archaic features. The female head is showing small almond-shaped eyes, a prominent nose and lips drawn into a slight archaic smile. She wears a stephane and a veil.
Probably from Sicily, following an Eastern Greek model.
