19th century Persian silver melon shape salt shaker with repousse branch on top surrounded by a band of small flowers, and with pendant drapery in every sector of the bottom part. Last quarter of 19th century, Qajar dynisty era, very well made, two parts fit snugly, in excellent vintage condition, nicely tarnished (can be cleaned with silver tarnish remover in a minute if needed). Hallmarked with 2 characters on the bottom. Diameter 2 inches, height 2 inches, weight 1.45 ounces (41 grams).

Solid cast, the bronze cobra with flaring hood and bulging eyes, curved along the back of the hood, its head crowned by a solar disk, the body once inlaid, with a tenon at the base. 5 1/4 inches high including the tenon. Suspension loop on back of head. V.G. Collection Brussels, 1975.

The bronze is in solid condition with some crude detail. This amulet shows Horus as a child in his famous seated position with hand to mouth. This week I am posting several Bronze Age weapons from the Middle East including a set of 5, very unique, crescent-hilt daggers from the Marlik culture (circa 1000 BC). A very elaborate and beautiful bronze oil lamp filler, very large for type, Early Islamic period of the ancient Near East, probably Seljuq Empire and c. 10th.-11th. cent. AD.

The bronze vessel shaped as a bird with large tail, beak and broad wings. Engraved on wings and tail with fine low relief carvings.

Size: 13,3 cm. long and 11,6 cm. wide.

Condition: Intact and choice with a dark brown patina and green highlights.

Ancient egyptian faience Shabti "Osiris; justified" 6cm.

No individual name is given here. The shabti could be used for any dead person.

Third Intermediate Period, 21th/22th Dynasty...

Interesting and unusually large decorated bronze tweezer, likely Roman but could be much older, perhaps late bronzeage European.

The tweezer measure 10,8 cm. in lenght and is solidly constructed and finely decorated with lines. Two tiny rivets in the low area. The design is most likely Roman, but the fine execution and the rivets could point to an earlier manifacture date.

Condition: Nice VF, absolutely lovely red-brown patina, but a c. 30% loss at one side.

A blue-green faience shabti, wearing the headband and two hoes. Inscribed shabti with clear hieroglyphs at the lower front. Details are added in black.

Size: 10,3 cm.

Condition: Choice with intact painted details and nice patina.

Large bulbous vessel topped by cylindrical spouts and a twofold handle between them. One spout with a red strainer on the top, the other with red wash inside and a strainer on the base.
Decorated with blue-black lines, wave scrolls, an undulating line with ivy leaves and a chain design. Ornaments below the handle, floral motifs near the base.

Interesting and rare gable seal in a scarce oval form and lovely dark red jasper stone, depicting 4-legged animal, probably feline, Levantine or Anatolian 4th. millenium BC.

A very attractive archaic carving and large for the Jasper stone used.

Condition: Very fine, extensive smooth wear but intact.

Interesting lot of 4 ancient weights of different usage, Greek and roman, 3rd. cent. BC-3rd. cent. AD.

Lot includes to fine Greek larger stone weights, with loops at the top weighing 33.57 grams, and possible used for weaving, a pendant shaped lead weight with loop, Roman and finally another Roman weight of bronze shaped as a bird and weighing 33,76 grams.

Condition: Intact with fine patinas, several rare pieces.

It is 11/16” long (17 mm) and made of steatite, an easy-to-carve stone that hardens when heated.
