A scarce thinbutted Danish Neolithic silex axe, mid-late 4th mill. BC.

The axe has a rarely seen feature with a carved ring in the middle of the head. Most thinbladed axes doesn't have this kind of fitting, so this specimen must have been fastened to the shaft in a different way than usual. Maybe used as an adze.

Size is 17 cm - 6,7 inches.

Condition: Choice axe, w. smaller chips. Resharpened in antiquity. Beautiful calky, white patina.

Typical for the period with short tang and knapped in an attractively patinated greyish silex / flint.

Beautiful Etruscan votive terracotta head, c. 5th.-4th. cent. BC.

A substantial terractotta in a fine condition and quality.

Condition: Near Extremely fine for the type.

Provenance: Private Collection of Bjørn De Roepstorff, an important Danish castle / mansion collection. The family lived in Italy in the 1970s and bought a few antiquities, like this nice head.

Etruscan bucchero olpe with ovoid body, truncated conical neck and lightly flared lip. The strap handle arching from rim to shoulder. Standing on a low ring base.
Bucchero ware was the distinct local pottery type of ancient Etruria. The black clay was created reducing the supply of oxygen in the smoke-filled atmosphere of the kiln.

A finely carved late- to Neo-Assyrian black stone cylinder seal, depicting running animal in a fine style and very high relief, above is star and crescent, mid-to late Assyrian.

Interesting large amuletic seal in marble, probably crusader period, 11th.-13th. cent.

The seal was found in Eastern Anatolia / Western Mesopotamia - old crusader land. It was described in the large collection as a 'mystery seal', due to it's strange form and depiction on the seals base.

Relics of the Nile is pleased to present this wonderfully detailed funerary cone from a known tomb in the Theban Necropolis. This is cone number 576 from tomb number TT 295 for the scribe Paroy, also known as Djehutymose. The cone is wonderfully inscribed and detailed with clear glyphs. We're happy to present a very rare and absolutely stunning Danish Fishtail dagger, latest neolithic fase in Daggertime, around 1800 BC.

The rather large dagger with finely made microseams on each side of the handle. On this type, the cross-section of the handle is diamond-shaped on the front and more oval flat on the back. The handle is also decorated with a particularly beautiful mid-seam. The blade worked very thin and symethric.
