Interesting pottery jar with handle and fine decoration in red on beige ground, Ancient Near East c. 2nd. millenium BC.

Condition: Very fine, with short crack and small chip nicely restored and not visible.

This is a lovely ancient Egyptian Scarab, c. 1200 BC, from the famous Mitry collection (see our Homepage). It is 1/2” long (13 mm) and made of steatite, an easy-to-carve stone that hardens when heated. Scarabs empowered life and resurrection and were often placed under mummy wrappings to protect the body and help it resurrect. This Scarab comes in a jewelry display cup.

Relics of the Nile is proud to present this large and exceptional Egyptian wood and polychrome anthropoid mask. The face is carved with fine detail and is painted with red pigment over gesso with black eyebrows. It is important to note that this mask is complete with intact ears, which is rare to find. The cosmetic lines around the eyes, details in the right ear, and jawline from the right cheek to the chin are presented in a carbon-based black pigment...

From Jerusalem, a very attractive Talmudic period pottery torch, dating to the 6th Century AD

The feature of this piece is the nice band of grapevines that surrounds the piece on both the inside and the outside. In addition, this kylix features Medusas' stamp, which adds even more value and beauty to this piece. There is little wear to this piece and it remains fully intact and without restoration...

Relics of the Nile is pleased to present this lovely ancient Egyptian boat figure. The figure features all original pigment and has beautiful traits. The hair is painted in black pigment and is the classic style from the early 11th Dynasty. The boat man wears white clothing with his exposed skin presented in red. His arms remain at his side with unclogged holes remaining in his hands that once held the boat's oars...

White ground lekythos decorated in black-figure with two quadrigae at full speed to right, one overlapping the other by about a horse's length.
The charioteers lean forward in their chariot boxes and hold goad and reins.
The artist creates a mix-up with the different teams – the leading horses appear on the foreground while their charioteer is hidden behind the following team.

A very large and impressive Neolithic period stamp seal, provenanced to Amüg-Ebene near Antioch in Western Mesopotamia / Eastern Anatolia, c. 6th. millenium BC of even earlier.

Rectangular seal of grey stone with a long ridged pierced handle and a grit pattern in the base.

Size: 40 mm. long and 23 mm. wide, c. 12 mm. tall.

Condition: Near VF, one corner chipped, lightly affecting the imprint...

Larger seal carved in almost black-green serpentine, the seal carved with an introduction to the enthroned almighty deity, by a worshipper dragged before the throne by a female deity. Dating The Third Dynasty of Ur, also called the Neo-Sumerian Empire, 22nd.-21st. century BC.

A nice seal with deep relief in the fine old style, cuneiform inscription behind the visiting worshipper.
