A Chinese Brown Glazed Kendi, Qing Dynasty. Diameter approximately 32.5 cm, length approximately 36 cm and height approximately 25 cm (the base to the handle). Decorated with dragons and brown glazed. Few hairlines at the base.
DESCRIPTION: A fierce pair of Chinese pottery foo dogs, early Qing, 18th/19th C., covered with a heavy green glaze and seated on pedestals. Each bares its teeth ferociously while holding a ball between their front paws as well as in their mouths. Good detail with finely ribbed backs and curled manes. Very good condition. DIMENSIONS: Each approximately 9 ½” high (24 cm) x 5” wide (12.7 cm).

Chinese 19th Century Glazed Stoneware Shipwreck Jar
Many years ago we bought a small group of jars of this type. We were told they dated to the Song Dynasty (AD 960 - 1279) and had been in storage, having several years earlier been recovered from a shipwreck off Thailand. To the base of each jar is written an inventory number (we were told around 200 of these jars were excavated but how accurate this is, we do not know)...
Simple and refine elegance is what best describes this zisha yixing teapot of the 19th century, pure Chinese with little or no adornment, except a little calligraphy. Entirely crafted by hand with smooth walls inside and out, remarkably light weight for the size, yet it has perfect centered gravity. Handle and lid handle and spout are perfectly aligned. Signed Shaoshan (little Mountain) this is the artistic name for Shi Dabin, a late Ming dynasty yixing master...

This is a late Qing dynasty bamboo design yixing teapot of rectangular shape. It is dated to the Tongzhi period (1862-1874), late Qing dynasty. All the sides are shaped with the bamboo design, including the spout as well as the handle. The cover has two bamboo leave of dark green colour. On the base of the teapot, it shows the Tongzhi reign mark of the Qing dynasty. Also on the cover, it bears the seal mark of either the potter or the seal carver.
The teapot is in good condition...
