An extremely rare perfectly potted teabowl ( Temmoku ) with a most decorative partridge-feather mottle decoration. The partridge-feather mottles nearly look like oil-spots. Cizhou-type ware, Henan, Northern Song 10th - early 12th century. Diameter : 12,3 cm. H : 5,7 cm. Condition : Perfect

This Ge glazed dish is at least from the early Qing Dynasty but most probably the piece is older. Please compare the shape and the unglazed base of the piece with similar Ge glazed pieces from the early Ming and the Yuan Dynasty. Like all our pieces also this piece is genuine, the body of the piece is in a perfect condition with no chips or cracks. The only problem of this extremely rare excavated piece is that to the outside the surface of the glaze during hundreds of years was heavily attacked by aggressive soil.
