A Rare Korean Fine White Glazed Baluster Shape Porcelain Jar-18th C.: Korea, Joseon Period, 18th century. The finely potted baluster form with bulbous shouler and tapering waist and raised mouth rim, decorated with an overall warm and slilght blue tinged white glaze applied, some areas slightly discolored in firing. It’s in fine condition but a small chip repaired near the foot (see photo #2), otherwise very fine condition, it measures 10.25” h. x 8” (26cm x 20.8cm).

A large Korean bedside chest or Morijang. The top of the chest holds a row of 3 drawers with hinged double doors below, and a row of four drawers along the very bottom of the piece. Motifs of butterflies and auspicious symbols are seen throughout the hardware plating. The interior holds a single curved shelf with decorating metal plating and a locking mechanism to hold its front doors securely shut.

A small Korean personal chest with dramatic Elm hardwood front panels. The top set of doors opens to an inner compartment with carved hardwood border, and six small drawers. The middle doors and lower drop-down lid open to a large compartment lined in Korean paper. The upper and lower set of doors are book-matched so the natural woodgrain appears to mirror itself. The piece is fully detailed with brass hardware and plates.

Korean vanity box made with persimmon wood panels. The box lid opens with brass hinges and brass front plating, incised with floral motifs. The interior of the box holds 4 compartments. Rare, Museum Quality 19th Century Medicine Chest (Yakjang) with Paulownia Doors. This is the finest work of Korean antique furniture we have ever offered, and likely the only example of this type anywhere outside of Korea. Antique medicine chests with doors are extremely rare even in Korea, and this is probably the best known condition among the very few left. Each drawer has the name of the medicine inscribed on it. Perfectly proportioned at 100 x 75 x 33 cm, 39.5 x 29.5 x 13 inches.

This seven feet tall Antique Korean Trident is the only Joseon Dynasty Trident ever offered for sale. The few existing examples are all in museums in Korea. Only Korea has this type of trident with the small round iron cymbals under the fork for scaring off tigers and other wild animals. The shape of the fork is also uniquely Korean. The Chinese trident has much rounder corners. 82 inches (208 cm) tall, 8.5 inches (21.5 cm) wide.
