Vintage hand forged sterling silver and azur malachite mosaic pin or brooch designed and signed circa 1950 by American & Taxco, Mexico artist William Spratling (1900-67). Pin measures 1 1/2" X 1 1/4". Beautiful condition. Pin back and lock are tight and secure. Pictured on Phyllis Goddards informative website spratlingsilver.com. Measuring 3" x 2 1/4" x 1 1/2" high, this silver box is nicely stamped with traditional navajo designs. It sits on four feet, which appear to be bead halves, and has a clasp on front that secures the lid. Unmarked, which is typical of older works, likely from the trading post era, with Fred Harvey being one of the primary venues for the sale of hand made Navajo silver and other works. Excellent condition, nice soft patina, slight rubbing to surface, the hinges and clasp function well...
