A Maestro from the Spratling era but with a Mexico City designation and with a conjoined HT hallmark built this necklace of thick silver weighing approximately 77 grams. The silver pearls are without dents and may show reflections. The length is 15in. and height is one inch tall. It lays smooth against the skin and for a shorter necklace that is worn higher up it feels barely there. Striking presence, just LOOK AT THAT NECKLACE!

Carved bone and ebony Civil War era dominoes. Mid 19th century. This complete set is comprised of 28 tiles carved from bone, laminated onto ebony, secured with brass pins. They are offered in their original wooden case with sliding cover. Box measures: 6.75" x 2.25" x 2.4". Condition is very good, but exhibiting some signs of wear and minor chipping to some tiles. All in all a great early game.

One of my favorite and, in my opinion, most accomplished early Mexico City repousse maestros, Abraham Tobias, signs this bold Deco silver cuff bracelet. Tobias was a contemporary of Matilde Poulat's and quite often his jewelry are based on her designs. He excelled in the so-called Mexico City repousse style and here he is contributing to the tradition of the sought-after "Aztec Rose" cuffs...

A rare blue & white Kendi with Islamic style elegant shaped, decorated with lotus panels filled with wave and floral sprays motif. Ming dynasty 15th century, Xuande-Zhendong period. Condition: one nail chip to the rim, the tip of spout is missing and further in good condition. High: 15 cm.

Fine Large Chinese Han Dynasty Painted Pottery Hu Jar & Cover

This pottery jar with cover was made during the Western Han Dynasty (206 BC - AD 8). It is made from a fairly high-fired fine-grained grey pottery that has been elaborately "cold painted" in various coloured pigments, including blue, a colour rarely seen on Han pottery. The pattern comprises a geometric design around the neck and a swirling cloud pattern around the waist, between wide bands.

A discreet masterpiece are words which could easily describe this gorgeous chunk of antique burled vine root carved and polished to a subtle sheen in the shape of a two tiered vase inset with bamboo pots. The piece rises from pebbly textured burl, abundant with character, like a clay pot which collapsed during firing. The second level appears to float above the first on tendrils of smoke. A startling effect. This piece truly captures the Japanese sense of respect for the natural world...

The king of French daybeds, we have never had such a wide, luxurious version of this classic. Excellent original condition with three-position folding sides. Dimensions; 65” long, 32” wide, 30” high

Connecticut landscape by Henry Hammond Ahl, signed lower right. Born in East Hartford, Connecticut, Henry Ahl was a portraitist, muralist and landscape painter whose work reflected his exposure to the Tonalist style of the Barbizon painters. He studied at the Royal Academy of Munich with Alexander Wagner and Franz Von Stuck, and in Paris with Jean Leon Gerome. He exhibited with the Munich Royal Academy. Image 25"L x 30"W. A gorgeous repousse clamper bracelet by Gerardo Lopez wrought in sterling silver, this is a perfect match for the necklace by the same artist available in my inventory - you can see the two pieces together in the next to last photo. Exceptionally well made, its quality reflects Lopez's mastery of repoussage and his design acumen...

It is the one of the rare and outstanding Ming dynasty dish excavated on Halmahera island Indonesia, the interior of the dish with a turquoise glaze and exterior with a sapphire blue glaze. Presume as Ming dynasty 15th-16th century piece. Condition is good except minor flaked glaze to the rim, interior center adhered sands because buried for long times. Diameter: 14.5 cm and High: 2.5 cm.

A surreal ink on cloth landscape by Kyoto artist Nakanishi Koseki (1807-1884) bordered in rich blue patterned silk and featuring radical flaring rosewood rollers. Soft ink tones and heavy washes of gray clash with the brisk strokes and jagged lines of the painting, creating a vivacious scene. The stamps on this match those on the next listing, a second scroll by Koseki. This scroll measures 19-3/4 by 76 inches (50.5 x 194 cm)...

Honda Tenjo enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Seven Great Men. Ink on paper in a superlative silk mounting with ivory rollers (they will be changed if exporting). It is 26 x 85-1/2 inches (66.5 x 217 cm) and is in excellent condition. Honda Tenjo (1867-1946), born in Tokyo, initially studied western painting for five years under Kondo Katsumi before moving to Nihonga under Kano Hogai. Along with Okakura Shusui and Oka Fuho was to be called the four pillars of the Hogai Studio...

A RETICULATED PORCELAIN DISH, JAPANESE IMARI, LATE 17TH / EARLY 18TH CENTURY.

A very rare dish for this early period. The centre is decorated with typical Imari enamels in a most striking design set off by the reticulated border of interlaced circles. On the back can be found a very unusual border design of two gilt dragons. Within the foot-rim are four unevenly spaced spur marks...

Chinese Qing dynasty ornately carved rootwood fly-whisk handle. Fly-whisks were carried by Buddhist priests to wave away flies which, according to Buddhist tenets, they could not kill. The fly-whisk is also a symbol of leadership. 19th century. 10 3/8" long. Very good overall condition with a nice patina. There are a few thin cracks visible in the enlargements. This piece is from the private collection of American expatriates who lived in Hong Kong in the 1970s and 1980s...
