Description:

A white-glazed plate was stand in high stem foot.
Separated in four sections in the cavetto, the plate was mold by lobed rim which was then by accurate look of imitating the silver counterpart of the same date.
In grayish white tint, the glaze was yielded with subtle incursions which was caused from age.
Motifs of tailing fish and sea waves were decorated in the center of the shallow bowl. They were the other characteristics of the ware from the dated periods...

This attractive pin weighs 1.7 grams, it has the 1K0 maker's mark for Kohn & Co. of Newark, NJ on the c-clasp and it tests as 14k gold. A superb Sajigawa stone of deep olive patina, completely natural, on a carved rosewood base and enclosed in a fine old straight grain wood box. This Fred Davis design is hallmarked with the Davis eagle 22 which was assigned only to him. It is lacking the FD signature. The piece is very well executed weighing 71 grams heavy and being 16.5in. long and just shy of 1 inch wide. It has a sophisticated presence with no dents or chips to the amethyst cabachons. The Fred Davis swirl bracelet shown is already listed on my site and is a wondrous compliment to the necklace. This is a keeper for any collectors jewel box, just LOOK AT THAT NECKLACE...

In straight shape and somehow penetrated and knarled holes, this wood scholar item was kept in very good condition with firm surface and greasy-feel quality.
It was firmly stand when in good weight despite the dehydrated look.

One of my favorite Margot de Taxco all-silver designs, the beaded, undulating links of "5247" exude an unsurpassed sense of motion and their architecturality is only enhanced with patina as the years go by. This kind of Mask is sculpted with minimal work taking advantage of natural deformations. The natural material would be tree roots, at least that is the information provided by the sellers. Some of these masks would however be old and used as burlesque masks during the various festivals. The parts with nodules are preserved with a minimum of modification to represent the eyes and sometimes the mouth. This gives each mask a unique look of puffy, hideous faces.
