Alongside Sigi Pineda and Enrique Ledesma Erika Hult de Corral is one of my favorite modernist jewelry designers - her work is imaginative, never fails to surprise and and her genuine creativity results in unfailingly impressive pieces without having to resort to fussy design. Her creations do not come up very often yet she obviously has a rather loyal following that appreciates her aesthetic and seeks after her jewelry...

A nicely shaped large Yuan Dynasty incenser in light green celadon glaze with ribbing design to exterior. Small visible imperfections and small chips to glaze on rim and a small one to underside of one foot. Also, a faint hairline is visible on side of incenser. Diameter: 5 inches; height 2.50 inches. A very good example of b/w bowl, decorated at the interior with foliated dragon, inside the center with lotus petals medallion and surrounded to the inner rim with fine Tibetan characters. Ming dynasty late 15th century to early 16th century. Condition with two missing area, one to the rim side and the other to foot rim and gilt repaired, also two hairlines crack appears. Diameter: 14.7cm.

With delicately carved features, this silver and tiger’s eye Egyptian Revival “Cleopatra” bolo tie is a small work of art that came out of the Los Ballesteros workshop. One of the best - and definitely the most persistent - Taxco talleres involved in the creation of exquisite “mask” jewelry, the Los Ballesteros used an array of semi-precious and hard- stones to create serene, out-of-this-world effigies for brooches, rings, bracelets and pendants...

This bold sterling silver belt buckle was designed and signed in the 1940's by Taxco, Mexico designer William Spratling. Weighing a hefty 35 grams the buckle measures 1 7/8" X 1 3/4" & will take a 1 1/4" wide strap. Beautiful condition and patina. No dents or dings. Fully hallmarked WS TAXCO 980 on the reverse. This design is pictured on p.35 of MEXICAN SILVER by Penny Morrill & Carole Berk, p. 172 of MEXICAN JEWELRY by Pack & Davis & on p. 108 of SPRATLING SILVER by Cederwall & Riney.

Hand carved and weighing a healthy 180 grams of sterling silver, this trio of seldom seen Spratling cuffs measures 1 1/4" high when stacked. Each are 7/16" wide and about 6 3/4" to 7" wearable. Beautiful vintage condition and patina. All hallmarked. This sleek design is an elegant take on Spratling's more often seen pyramid cuffs. A brooch that unabashedly lures the eye and invites the touch this sterling silver and golden sheen obsidian treasure bears the signature of Erika Hult de Corral, one of the few female designers of Mexico's 20th c. Silver Renaissance that we know of and definitely the only modernist. de Corral's work can be truly inspired - and she has a way with silver and stones that makes the materials simply flow into each other effortlessly, as if they were always meant to be together...

SOLD, no price, no info available. Circa 1940 Fred Davis Design Pre Assay Substantial Big Bold Bracelet marked: MEXICO SILVER with a Pheasant Bird Mark. This resembles a well known modernist Art Deco looking Fred Davis bracelet. Weighs just under 3 Ounces or 83 Grams (heavier than #132649 in this catalog) of bright red testing silver! May be higher. When the hidden hook is engaged it measures 7 3/8" inside X 1 3/16" wide X 1/4 - 1/2" Thick! Very nice pre owned condition...

A shallow dish, heavily potted, covered in a beautiful celadon glaze producing the crackles of the Geyao type glaze. The recessed base is glazed while the foot rim is dressed with an iron brown wash. Periode : Qianlong (1736-1795) Century Diameter : 12 cm. Condition : Perfect, no chips, cracks, hairlines or restorations.

A complete calcified "chicken bone" jade necklace from the Longshan Period. Jade that has been buried for millenniums sometime calcifies to a white color losing all of it's original color. Age: 2800-1900 BC. Size. Length(closed) 29.5cm. Condition: Age calcification.
