A very unusual Kutani porcelain shallow bowl in the form of bamboo basket form rice scoop, zaru, decorated with a celadon glaze and finely painted in aka-e style with butterflies to the interior of the bowl, and an elaborate iron red brocade ground inset with repeating panels of Chrysanthemums and Suzuki, pampas grass. The bowl measures 22cm in length and is 18,5cm in width and at its highest point measures 6.5cm. The dish is in very good condition no cracks, chips or restoration...
