Beautiful, heavy vintage Deco necklace in the style of Aguilar's "half tubular link" design, I am not sure how to present this to you and what attribution to make. It is not signed at all but the construction, weight and quality make me believe that it could be a Hector original. Yet would anybody in their right mind remove the hallmarks link? In any case, here it is, measuring a wearable 15" long (total length is actually 16 1/4") by 7/8" wide and weighing a generous 91.9 grams...

This bracelet has everything! Baroque pearls, seed pearls, mirrorbacks, and gilt bows and flowers. It is hinged and fabric lined. It has the Haskell look but it is unsigned. As can be seen in the pictures, there is some corrosion frequently found in older pieces. It is priced accordingly. In my judgement it is highly collectible and wearable, and it is so spectacular that we have broken our rule to offer only pieces that are in perfect condition. Its flaws can be overlooked...

This beauty is comprised of 5 large turquoise stones that are approximately .75in. at the widest and 1.5in. long. The color is a vivid blue green. The prongs are holding by fingers that form more of a cage for the stones to roll around. The silver is thick and it weighs a hefty 64 grams. This is a noted Los Castillo design but these stones make this piece stellar on it's own merit. There is no damage of any kind and the workmanship is superb with a JV noted hallmark as shown...

Classic Fred Davis Mexican Deco silver and turquoise bracelet in a design that is considered an iconic creation for the renowned designer, especially in this combination of materials. It sits on four feet, which appear to be bead halves, and has a clasp on front that secures the lid. One of my most favorite "less celebrated" maestros of Mexico's 20th c. Silver Renaissance, AEM is also referred to as "the Heart" artist because he signs his initials "AE" in a heart-shaped "M". Though we know that he had worked for Estela Popowski and Rancho Alegre, his identity remains elusive to this day. I am particularly fond of his repousse pieces, which are invariably of the highest quality, very often in designs that closely resemble Los Castillo or Margot de Taxco cr...

Dating around the middle of Matilde Poulat's career, this sterling repousse brooch exhibits the tell-tale texturing and beading that characterizes her silver-work and is adorned with bezel-set turquoise and red coral. Poulat's inspiration quite often originated in the natural environment with doves, owls, flowers, fish and, in our case, a sea horse featured in her jewelry. Evocative of the tranquility of deep sea waters, this little creature will put a smile on your face every day of the week. M...

A fantastic alternative to the very hard to find Salvador Teran original, this set of earrings bears the signature of Taller Taxco. A very intriguing workshop, Taller Taxco's jewelry are all emulations of Teran's designs - and of very high quality at that. Though there is suspicion of a relationship between the two, nothing has been proven until today yet it's indisputable that the pair at hand comes very close to Teran's work. Taller Taxco remains one of the mysteries that haunt our knowledge about maestros and workshops in Taxco's golden age. All their pieces that I have had have been high quality emulations of Salvador Teran's designs and the fact that their numbering system and a specific symbol they use in their hallmarks resembles Teran's own marks has created the idea that the two are somehow associated. Yet as Bille Hougart points out in the latest edition of his "Little Book of Mexican Silver" to date we have ...

When hunting Mexican silver you will run into gorgeous, repousse clampers signed EDP. His work is meticulous and is done in heavy silver.
