Bold and striking sterling necklace designed by Karl Gustav Hansen for Hans Hansen of Denmark. This necklace is from the "Future" line of jewelry manufactured by Hans Hansen between 1932 and 1948. Measuring 15 1/4" end to end, the links are articulated so move and flow freely. The necklace terminates with a threaded screw bolt clasp. It is 3/4" wide and weighs a substantial 137 grams. Signed as shown. A very unusual and spectacular Danish Modernist design.

Dating around 1930, this Mexican Deco Fred Davis necklace in a design that rarely comes up, is an early example of "mixed metals" jewelry. Combining repousse silver with copper wire and then bringing in ripe, saturated color with the amethyst cabs, the necklace is an ode to vineyards and aromatic red wine. Though the brooch of the parure appears in the third edition of Morrill's "Mexican Silver" (p. 28), the necklace is hard to find and I am thrilled to be presenting it here...

This is a magnificent sterling and rutilated quartz bracelet by Danish designer Bent Knudsen. There are 7 stones of the highest quality and sitting high in their settings. The last stone is an ingenious clasp that unscrews and closes with a hook and bolt making the bracelet continuous when on the wrist. It measures 7" end to end and is 1" wide. This sleek 1930's design by Frederick Davis features a finely detailed, hand carved malachite Aztec Warrior as the central element. Made for a smaller wrist the bracelet measures 6 1/2" long x 1 1/4" high and weighs 47 grams. Both silver and stone are in beautiful condition. Hallmarked FD on the clasp. This attractive pottery model of a horse & female rider was made during the Tang Dynasty (AD 618 - 906). It is made from a relatively highly-fired buff-coloured pottery that has been "cold painted" in various different coloured pigments. The horse stands alert with its head turned a little to its left. Note the long-sleeved clothing of the rider and her elaborate hairstyle.
