We are offering design 263 which is one of the early Los Castillo pre-Columbian swirls. The necklace is one of the most magnificent Los Castillo designs and this one is 17 in. which makes it fit nicely as most are very short in length. This is properly hallmarked with the old linear Los Castillo hallmark as shown. There are many copies out there but this one is genuine and a pre-1948. It moves like a slinky with the rivets that hold the links together for strength...

A large 17th to 18th century Buddhist sculpture of a Rakan (arahat), well sculpted, his naked torso gilded in gold with robes and shoes in black lacquer, carrying a large urn which is an active incense burner. The sculpture is 2 feet (61 cm) tall and in overall fine condition. There are minor losses to the lacquer and gilding typical of age, and a repair to his left foot. Both little fingers are missing from his hands; these could be repaired if desired at additional cost.

This beauty is comprised of 5 large turquoise stones that are approximately .75in. at the widest and 1.5in. long. The color is a vivid blue green. The prongs are holding by fingers that form more of a cage for the stones to roll around. The silver is thick and it weighs a hefty 64 grams. This is a noted Los Castillo design but these stones make this piece stellar on it's own merit. There is no damage of any kind and the workmanship is superb with a JV noted hallmark as shown...

Description: A rare excavation piece of a jadeite snuff bottle was in beautiful greenish tint and with obvious incursions.
Even with un-satisfactory cracks which was due to long time of burial, the snuff bottle was in stable condition and the hollowing craftsmanship was quite good. An adequate black steatite cap was newly paired but more work was needed to add the dipper on.

Description:This superb glazed bowl was made in the Tang Dynasty (AD 618 - 906). The bowl has been glazed in a yellowish glaze with the freely-drawn design in green and brown glazes.
Diameter 15 cm.
Condition: There is a tiny chip to the rim and the four areas of brown flaking glaze to the sides have been touched up .An unique example very rarely offered for sale.
Similar example was seen at the book of
"The Chinese Potters' Exploration of Iron Oxide Glazes".
This child's headpiece was from a very high status, wealthy Chinese family. Basically made of 3 pieces of shaped and intricately carved leather, it was made "adjustable". Heavily decorated with additional carved elements, dragons, beads and pompoms, it still has most of the original gold paint. This is a rare treasure. approx 6" x 3.5"

Offered for sale is a wonderful 19th century brass and wood English Apothecary Balance Scale. This lovely balance retains its original patina on both the wooden base and brass scales.
The arm is marked "T.O.Co. J. HALL & SON-Makers-Birmingham" and "Class 1 - To Weigh 1 lb."
The scale measures 16"L x 8"W at the wood base and 16 inches high. The condition appears original with only minor distortion to the wood base.
