William Spratling first phase hallmarks as shown are on these magnificent tulip earrings. They are substantial in size at 1.5in. long and .75in. wide at widest point. The weight is 21 grams. They drop beautifully and the screw backs hits in the center of the tulip making it well balanced for a great fit. The swirl curves with the ear for a fabulous presence. No dents or chips. This is an early authentic hallmark for Matilde Poulat's work. The size is just perfect for a button front crisp white shirt being 2.5in. by 2.5in. The weight is 26 grams. It is in excellent condition with no concerns. The turquoise stones have warmed in their color and the repousse curls are beautifully carved. The beads are sharp in their detail. A large Han Dynasty (206 BC-220 AD) cold-painted pot from an old Japanese scholar collection enclosed in an ancient kiri-wood storage box bearing a great many stamps inside the lid. The fine clay is covered in elaborate designs in red, white brown and orange pigment. The piece is 11 inches (28 cm) tall. There is minor damage to the rim but no repair or restoration; a fine example of Han Dynasty painted pottery in fine condition.
