Worcester in the C18th and early C19th can be divided into the Dr Wall period 1752-1776, the Davis period 1776-1783 and the Flight and various Barr's periods 1783-1840. The factory used a large range of marks, the most common being the crescent marks, both open and hatched, the fret mark and the script and printed W. Some Worcester under glaze blue painted patterns have their own unique mark...

A Brown glazed Ridgway Pottery Transfer Pitcher, with a Silvered Handle, Rim and Base. It Features "Scenes from Coaching Days and Coaching Ways"; from the Book "Coaching Days and Ways" by W. Outram Tristram and Illustrated by Herbert Railton and Hugh Thomson, published in 1888 by MacMillan in London. The Pitcher is 9.5" high x 4.75" at basem and dates from about 1890. A small Song Dynasty celadon bowl in good condition. Carved lotus leaf pattern to outside. Apart for some wear as may be expected, there are only some very minor chips to base rim. Lovely color and good symmetry. Small noticeable mark on rim that likely occurred during firing. Diameter: 5 inches
