An amazing ring by famous Zuni artist John Gordon Leak. His work was prominently featured in the 1975 Sotheby's auction of the C.G. Wallace collection. John Gordon Leak was most well-known for his knifewing and dragonfly images. The central knifewing image is inlaid with shell and turquoise within a black jet background. A beautiful sterling and saw tooth bezel set natural turquoise cuff bracelet by noted and highly collected Navajo silversmith Austin Wilson who was active producing 1930's - 1950's and passed away shortly after. This bracelet measures 5 3/4" around in the inside with a 1 1/4" opening. It is 1 5/8" wide and weighs 98 grams. Hallmarked with his bow and arrow mark, it is in fine original condition with no chips or cracks to the stones. A rare and spectacular piece.

A band of deeply embossed and oxidized silver encircles nearly half of this bangle, made of what looks to be lacquered bamboo. The design on the band is a combination of various symbols, one of which looks like an iris. The design is framed by a Greek key-like border; the band is secured to the wood bracelet by tiny pins.
