We are offering design 263 which is one of the early Los Castillo pre-Columbian swirls. The necklace is one of the most magnificent Los Castillo designs and this one is 17 in. which makes it fit nicely as most are very short in length. This is properly hallmarked with the old linear Los Castillo hallmark as shown. There are many copies out there but this one is genuine and a pre-1948. I promised yesterday that I had two more of those Sigi Pineda surrealist figures dangle earring sets to present and here is the second pair. There is something as endearing as it is quirky about the specific design line - I am not sure what Sigi was into when he created these - but I find them all weirdly irresistible. Mid-century mod "peas-in-a-pod" Mexican silver dangle earrings, this set is signed by Sigi Pineda and it's an iconic creation for the renowned Taxco modernist. I think Sigi was at his best when he worked with designs that contrasted niello-ed surfaces with brushed silver pearls. There is nothing classier than the marriage of black and gleaming sterling yet the textured beads add a dimension that enriches the earrings' visual impact...

Command attention in these dramatic onyx and mother of pearl earrings. They measure 23 x 30 millimeters overall with an impressive 13 x 18 cabochon onyx in the center of each mother of pearl oval, all set in 14 kt gold. An early sterling brooch by Mexican silversmith Matilde Poulat who signed her pieces "MATL" beginning in 1934 until her death in 1960. The motifs of this pin- doves and tiny bells- are ones she used often.The doves have coral eyes and the bells have turquoise dangles. This pin measures 2" long and 1 7/8" wide. It is in fine original condition and signed for MATL in two places on the reverse. This is a wonderful and inspired early MATL piece.

Rare and early a Los Castillo Mexican silver and amethyst necklace, this beauty is a veritable Taxco treasure. Comprised of 3 strands of small, hand-wrought beads accented by a big, lusciously colored central cabochon, it is completed by a special silver clasp adorned with a smaller yet equally beautiful stone. A 9k yellow gold Edwardian rhodolite garnet and seed pearls ring fully hallmarked for Chester, England 1903. This size 6 ring features three seed pearls on each side of the natural garnet and it has an Ionic column design on the shoulders and shank and it is 1/4" wide across the top of the ring. A very special and unusual sterling and green onyx ( or agate ) bracelet by Carmen Beckmann ( Bekmann). A rare and spectacular mid-century modern sterling pin by Carmen Beckmann. The center features 2 Mexican jelly opals and green stones that I believe are tourmaline.
