This colorful and warm northern Vermont scene was probably painted near Jeffersonville, VT. It is titled and signed at the top of the stretcher and also signed in the lower right, Emile A. Gruppe. The painting is in excellent original condition with no in-painting or repairs and is offered in what is probably the original frame. Canvas size: 24" x 20".

Clay Bartlett was a Vermont artist with a residence in Manchester, VT. He was a member of the Southern Vermont Artists from 1934-1951. This painting depicts an abandoned railway station with its shutters closed and with a stationary train on the adjacent tracks. Size: 13" x 19" (sight). Excellent condition.
