Kind of the quintessential French Club Chair , this pair is in very good overall condition. One of the cushions has been restored and the color match is quite good. They sit perfect, the bottoms have been retied 8 way as original with a new jute deck and dust cover. This is the pair and the style that charms everyone! A Continental lowboy in walnut and walnut veneers. 18th century. Size: 32 3/8 inches wide X 21 1/2 inches deep X 30 inches high. Walnut veneered and cross banded top with line inlay above a long and two short drawers with a boldly scalloped apron and supported by cabriole legs with raised carved shells on the knees and with ball and claw feet. Brasses are later replacements.

An attractive American Chippendale period slant front desk in yellow birch, with pine secondary wood. Circa 1775-1790. Size: 39.25 inches wide x 19.75 inches deep x 40.5 inches ht. The desk has four graduated drawers with molded lips, supported on an ogee bracket base. The fitted interior features a combination of pigeon holes and drawers arranged around a central prospect door, which conceals a hidden drawer. Probably of a New England origin. Retaining the original brass bail handles...

This lovely French nailed head French Club chair could be the model of what all the people trying to copy French Club chairs would want to use. It features the transitional style where the cushion was velvet that was prevalent in previous French seating. This chair has some age appropriate wear, a little repair here and there but the chair is is sound, good condition overall. It sits quite nicely...

Gendarme of course refers to the French policemans hat which is the same as Napoleons classic chapeau. High in the center with a gentle slope that finishes in a crisp point at the corners. I was fortunate to snag this pair at a large outdoor show south of Paris. The competition is fierce at these hugs shows and most chairs have been bought up before I get a shot at them. There are many models that I pass for lack of style, materials used or overall condition...

Rambouillet is a city south of Paris where many International Peace treaties and negotiations have taken place since before World War One. An attractive stool by the pre-eminent American manufacturer of Arts and Crafts furniture, and retaining the original colored Stickley decal.

A large country hutch table with round 56 inches diameter pine top, that hinges upright on an oak chair base with seat and turned legs. Age: 19th century. Table top height - 29 3/4 inches. Pegged construction with removable top secured by wooden dowels. It is rare to find one of these chair tables with such a large diameter and with no restrictive stretcher base; great overhang. Will seat 6-8 people with comfort. Excellent condition.

Antique New York state Federal three-drawer work table or stand, in mahogany with curly maple drawer fronts and brass petal pulls. Circa 1820. Size: 29 inches high x 22 inches wide x 16 1/2 inches deep. The top drawer is fitted with a wooden writing surface and dividers for inkwells, and there is a lower shelf. Condition is very good.

Mid-19th century New England 6-board pine blanket chest with cut-out boot jack ends and an internal till. Mellow honey surface. Size: 45.5 inches length x 24 inches height x 17.75 inches depth. Great for storage, or as a coffee table or bench.

An early American 18th century country pine bench with back in a salmon painted finish. Size: 57 inches length x 14.5 inches depth x 32.5 inches height. Dovetailed joints. A great, decorative and hard to find country item.

A stunning European, probably French, sideboard/cabinet adorned with carved griffins, urns and rosettes in the Aesthetic Movement style. Circa 1880-1890s. Size: 56.5 inches length x 20 inches depth x 44.25 inches height. Solid oak with a reddish orange marble top ( a later replacement). There are two hidden frieze drawers with rosettes above a double door cabinet, carved with griffin handled urn motifs.

An unusually small-sized Hepplewhite, Federal mahogany server with one-drawer and retaining its original brass knobs. C.1800-1815. Size: 29.25 inches length x 20 inches depth x 29.5 inches ht. Black leather and chrome on a black metal frame. Originally designed in 1928; this chair is about 12 years old. Excellent condition. Now considered to be a classic modern design.
