This extraordinarily difficult to find pharmacy “IDEAL CAPSULE FILLER” was used by early 20th century druggists in the Pierce Pharmacy, Hartford, Connecticut.

The machine was successfully developed to increase a pharmacist's capsule production. The patent date is stamped Oct. 31, 1905, and the direction guide is marked "Baltimore Capsule Co." A rare late Victorian Page or Plato clock, fully hallmarked for London, England 1901. This mechanical marvel features celluloid leaves with handpainted numerals, the top dial for hours and the bottom for minutes. The mechanism flips each page over to tell the time, and it has a round case in sterling silver. Seen occasionally in brass and in lesser metals, silver is very rare and would have been extremely expensive in its day...

A C.M. Von Valkenburg Petrolia gold filled pocket watch circa 1900. This 2" across stem-wind pocket watch has a porcelain dial with a single sunk seconds dial and blued hands. It is printed with C.M. VON VALKENBURG PETROLIA (Ontario, Canada) on the face, and the 1-5/8" across works has nice damascening. The works are marked ADJUSTED 2 POSITIONS 17 JEWELS 3876866. We haven't identified the works however the regulator resembles that of Howard or Ball watches...

An early and unusual pair of c1900 direct reading micrometers by J.T. Slocomb of Providence, Rhode Island. These 6-1/2" long hand-held thickness gauges are similar to the standard shaft-read micrometers except they have an indicator disc and pointer indicating the depth of the measured item (in this case probably sheet metal). They are painted cast iron with machined brass shafts and dials; they are each stamped with the maker's name on the shafts...

A sterling propelling extending pencil with a garnet top from the 1900 era. Worn on a watch fob or on a chatelaine, this sliding pencil was invented by Samuel Mordan however this example isn't signed or marked. It features attractive hand engraving and the garnet top tests as genuine. It has a gold plated loop for wear on a chain, it extends from 1-3/4" to 2-3/8" and it is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs...

An Edwardian 14K white and yellow gold rod link watch chain from the 1910 1920 era. The ultimate in men’s accessories is this 14Kt yellow gold pen knife from the early twentieth century. It was originally used on watch chains as a functional fob. The knife has two folding blades one of which is a knife blade and the other is a nail file. The length of the knife is 2 ¾” including the fold down bail, and the width is 3/8”.

Offered is a wonderful, circa 1920s, hanging, Apothecary Show Globe fashioned in the Art Deco style, complete and all-original. Very often hung in the front window of the local drug store to attract customers, these show globes were frequently filled with colored water to add extra depth and interest to their sculpted appearance.
