A large celadon bowl, well balance potted to rounded form with everted lip rim, covered overall with a fine olive green tone till foot rim, unglazed area appears a circular firing scars. Condition is good, no any chips and free from restoration excepted crackle glazed to the half area of the bowl, also with one very short firing crack to rim side. Generally speaking is 13th-14th century, Yuan to early Ming Longquan wares, excavated on South-Sulawesi area. Diameter: 20.7cm and High: 9.3cm

A Tamasudare-ami Hanakago Basket by Yamamoto Chikuryusai I of round bamboo strands enclosed in the original signed wooden box lacquered in translucent red. The basket exudes a deep respect for the tradition, every knot perfect, the proportions exquisite. It is 19 cm (7-1/2 inches) diameter, 37 cm (14-1/2 inches) tall and in excellent condition.

Porcelain decorated with flower spray on the center and four flower sprays on the cavetto, unglazed base. PERIOD : late Ming (1566-1643 AD) MEASUREMENTS: 31 cm wide. CONDITION: very good, 5 cm hairline, no cracks or chips and free from restorations. Good sound when tapping with finger tips.

A pear-shaped bottle vase decorated with vertical panels of galloping horses jumping over waves alternated with floral panels PERIOD : Late Ming (1566-1643) MEASUREMENTS:28 cm Height. CONDITION: professional restoration to the 0.5cm x 1.5 cm chip on the top part.

Occupation era original Japanese shin hanga woodblock print titled "Spring Evening at the Kintai Bridge" by Kawase Hasui (1883-1957) dated in the lower left margin Showa 22 (1947). The artist's black ink signature and red seal are at the lower left corner of the image. The 6mm circular seal of the publisher Watanabe (used 1946-1957) is at the lower right corner. Paper size: 15 5/8" x 10 3/8" (image size: slightly over 14 1/4" x 9 1/2"). Very good overall condition. Possibly lightly faded...

Description:

A russet-glazed Yuhuchun vase was well mold in decent look.
Fine glaze in retrospective sheen was applied on the surface when greasy-feel body clay was revealed at the bottom in brownish tint.
The vase was preserved in nearly perfect condition when two minute and shallow glaze chips were found under the flaring mouth rim.(see picture 3 )
They were being restored and were not noticeable from usually watching angles...

Rare Chinese Neolithic Pottery Jar - Caiyuan Culture (c. 2600 - 2200 BC)

This attractively-shaped pottery jar was made some 4,000 years ago by peoples of the Caiyuan Culture (c. 2600 - 2200 BC) and has been excavated from the Ningxia Autonomous Region in the north of China. It is finely-potted with a wide body and one handle from the shoulder to the wide flared mouth...

"Chinese beauty is", according to my Chinese friend, "she should walk like a weeping willow, her eyebrows should be fashionably shaped like its leaves and her long fingers must not show any trace of hard work" – I kind of love this part... Here she is sitting in a chair waiting to be carried by her new husband.

This is a very famous Chinese scene, new bride going home to visit her mother for the first time. This ritual follows three days after the wedding...

Yingqing dog figurine, white glazed to the unglazed base. H = 9.5 cm Period : Yuan Dynasty (1279-1368) Condition : Perfect, no chips, cracks, hairlines or restorations

A nice covered celadon jar, covered overall with smooth green glaze. Unglazed base. 14th century. Longquan Kilns, Zhejiang. Condition is excellent,a tiniest frits on the rim, no cracks, hairlines and free from restorations. High: 7 cm.

Charger covered with green glaze and decorated with chrysantemum on the center; glazed base. PERIOD : Yuan Dynasty (1279-1368 AD) MEASUREMENTS: 34 cm wide. CONDITION: glaze degradation, no chips, cracks, hairlines or restorations. Good sound when tapping by finger tips.

Obviously these two masks from the Nuo theater belong to the minorities of southern China. They constitute a set probably designed simultaneously by the same artist. One of the masks represents the monk Heshang and the second represents the jester Quintong. These masks date from at least the middle of the 20th century, that is to say about a hundred years. H 24 and 26 cm, presented on a metal base. More information and pictures on request

A large Chinese two handled vase decorated in famille verte enamels with birds amongst flowering peony & rocks. The decorated neck with iron red modelled elephants' head handles. The base with an apocryphal six character iron red mark of the Kangxi emperor.

A radical Iga vase by unconventional artist Kishimoto Kennin (b. 1934) enclosed in the original signed and stamped wooden box. The free form Terracotta image is covered in lichen-like pale green ash glaze. The vase is 10 inches (25 cm) tall, 5 inches (12.5 cm) wide and in perfect condition. Possibly better known today for celadon, Kennin went through a radical period some 15 years ago working on pieces like this unusually formed Iga ware...

Description: This ancient jade plaque with incursions caused probably by metal chemicals was kept well under earth for almost 3000 years. From the drilling holes on two ends, we can be sure that this plaque was used to be fastened with cloth or with identical jade plaques to form a funeral jade cloths for deceased people. A b/w bowl with flared rim, decorated at exterior cavetto with a scroll of lotus flowers supporting Buddhist emblems beneath a border of classic scrolls. The interior center with medallion consist of six lotus panels each framing a Sanskrit character. On the cavetto, there are fungus/ruyi scrolls, each of which supports a Sanskrit character beneath a trellis border, all design painted in good cobalt-blue material.
