Description:
An ovoid covered jar was in a decent size of 31cm in height.
In a perfect condition and owned the original cap, the ancient ware was uniquely decorated on top and on the body with whitish splashes.
The vessel stands on a small, solid foot with flat bottom.
Applied with dark tea-dust slip on most of the surface, the grayish white body clay was revealed underneath.
Enduring old clay verified its date.

An unusual chato (tea room sword) in the shape of an octopus, its 8 legs stretched out in uniform with one curled back exposing the suckers. Eyes are intimated on one side, with an old chip where the breathing hole is opposite. About the neck is wrapped a faded silk chord. It is 22 inches (56 cm) long. It is said that these wooden swords were produced from the mid to late Edo period, in lieu of swords for those not allowed to carry weapons (all but samurai)...

Obviously made for the western market, this porcelain pieces was a product of Dehua county, Fujiang province of Qing Dynasty, 19th century.

A Zitan covered box was in quite good condition.
Preserving with the charming purplish black patina, the box was revealed with the characteristic Ox-furs wood grains on the surface .
By a good size, the rectangular box was carved, tenoned and shaped into a typical scholar box.
A similar box was in the book of “The collection of Chinese box”, the collection from a famed connoisseur and antique dealer,Ma Wei Du.

An old Xer inkstone was intriguingly made in a shape of the ancient Chinese musical instrument-GuQin.
Nicely fitted in the original Suanzi wood box, the inkstone was preserved in a perfect condition except some old abrasions on the surface.
And the well carved inscription: Xi-Ann-Ju-Xi(Xi Ann the Recluse)was on the underside of the inksotne.

The face is expertly crafted, with a distinct Chinese air reflecting the fact the Rakan (Arahat) were all from the Continent. Perhaps the best dragon carving we have ever owned, here is a solid Keyaki carving taken from the interior of a temple with glass eyes glaring fiercely out at anyone who threatens the sanctity of Buddhism. Flames leap from the body blown by fierce winds as it rises from the Churning ocean. The carving practically roils out from the wood panel, fully in three dimensions. It is 78 x 26 x 10 cm (31 x 10 x 4 inches)...
