Massive Chinese Jin to Yuan dynasty (12th/13th century) Henan dark brown/black glazed horizontally ribbed ovoid form stoneware jar with high, wide shoulders narrowing at the base. The thick glaze drips down toward the flat, unglazed base. The rich black/brown glaze, referred to as “temmoku” by the Japanese, is highlighted by a russet colored cylindrical neck and rim. Measures about 13” high x 13 1/2” diameter. Very good overall condition with typical surface scratches to the glaze.
Chinese scrolled painting executed in ink and color on silk with two beauties seated in a garden setting. Two vertical rows of sumi ink calligraphy and a red square seal are at the upper right. A rough translation of the inscription is: It doesn’t take a saint to play musical instruments. I have to call you a lady, Bo Ya. Bo Ya was a famous musician who lived during the Spring and Autumn Period of the Eastern Zhou dynasty...

Description:A beautiful and rare imperial famille-rose crane-medallion porcelain bowl and saucer, the bowl decorated to the exterior with seven roundels of crane-medallions in purple red enamel, between bands of crosshatched pattern around the rim and blue and green breaking sea waves above foot rim, centre of the bowl finely painted with a single peony flower and leafy branches enclosed within blue-circles. The interior of the saucer was decorated with the same patterns of the roundles...
Chinese late Ming dynasty Wanli period blue and white kraak export porcelain deep dish with flattened foliate rim finely decorated in the well with two cobalt blue deer in a forest surrounded by flowers and fruiting trees. The rim is bordered with a band of frolicking horses chasing flaming pearls over waves and among clouds. The back edge is decorated with stylized plants all set against a white ground with a celadon-blue tint...

An insert table screen with carved wood lattice work. The round porcelain plaque with depiction of three immortals in a landscape painted in underglaze blue. The reverse is bearing a six character "Daoguang" seal mark. Maybe the plaque was once a dish and reduced. Condition: lattice work with few missing pieces and little glue residue. Dimension: plaque: diameter: c. 16.5 cm, screen: total height: 45.5 cm, 34.5 cm wide.

Characteristically the body clay revealed was in dense and greasy feel quality.
It was kept in perfect condition when some incursion was found on the surface.

Lovely smal pottery piece, decorated with a poem in dark brown on a creamy white base. H. 16,5 cm. Excellent condition. Ming Dynasty (1368-1644).
Green and ochre glaze on a yellowish white ground.
Diameter 10 cm. H. 4 cm. condition: expected age wear and cracks to the glaze, otherwise in very good condition. No cracks, no repairs. Tang Dynasty (618-906)

With simple words, it showed the enthusiastic inviting of a family host.
This kind of Bian was most likely having been put in a scholar chamber.
It is really hard to find a real scholar Bian like this. Most of them we found were for business using.

Decorated with a deer, a bird between blossom and a poem. Good age wear and a warm glossy patina. H. 9 cm. Very good condition, apart from some age cracks and an old repair. 19th century.
Decorated with two panels with landscapes, surrounded by flowers. This kendi was exported to Indonesia where the silver mounts were added, most probably in the 19th century. An excavated piece with lovely age wear. Tang Dynasty (618-906). The head is 7,5 cm high, with stand it is 18,5 cm high.
Two solid pottery sculptures with the original painting. H. 22,5 and 20,5 cm. Both in very good condition, although invisible restaurations are quite common on these early archaeological pieces. Thermoluminescence report by Laboratory Kotalla is included. Tang Dynasty (618-907)
