Recently excavated on South Sulawesi of Sawankhalok celadon dish or so-called Sisatchanalai wares. The dish with flattened rim and rounded lip, decorated with an incised chrysanthemum flower head in the center medallion and floral sprays on the cavetto. The exterior is plain, covered overall with a beautifully pale bluish-green celadon glaze and circular firing stand scar appear to the base. Sawankhalok ware 14th-15th century...

 

Tall (17 1/4"H) Chinese transitional period wucai gu beaker vase decorated around the circumference in underglaze blue and overglaze polychrome pigments and black outlined highlights with figures, phoenix birds and a crane in a garden setting. Three continuous vignettes are interspersed with flowers, rockery and clouds. The top rim features a "cracked ice" motif in underglaze blue within a decorative band. Excellent condition...

A very rare found of miniature double guard vase with original green glazed from unearthed, fluted sides body, mouth and shoulder carved into lotus bud shape. Ming dynasty 15th-16th century. Condition is fine and perfect. High: 9.5cm and Wide maximum: 6.8cm.

A bronze bell dated Kanbun 10 (1670) which would have been suspended in front of a Shinto shrine worship hall, and struck with a knotted rope to awaken the gods to listen to one’s prayers. Inscribed in the surface around dials of lotus flowers is: An auspicious day in the 7th month of Kanbun 10, followed by the names Honda Yasutoki Ko and Hiramoto Sukeyuki opposite a dedication to the god of water the Hachidairyu-jin followed by a place name near Awazu in modern day Shiga prefecture...

A rare porcelain libation vessel with well thinly potted of Ancient bronze Jue form with three legs framed by ruyi and scrolls design, a loop handle and two short columns rising from the rim, painted with a five clawed Dragon among clouds and rocks. Ancient Chinese Buddhist Pottery Amulet - Ming Dynasty

This is one of a group of moulded pottery tablets that we bought about twenty years ago. They are made from a relatively high-fired pottery and have a surprising amount of detail. A nice blue & white small jar, decorated to the body with fruit blossoms and cloud scroll to the shoulder, base unglazed. Ming dynasty 16th century. Condition is perfect, unfortunately just a kiln rock adhered to the shoulder area, otherwise is very fine excavated piece. Wide: 8cm and High: 8.5cm.

Rare Chinese Ming Dynasty Monochrome Blue Porcelain Box

This rare porcelain box was made during the Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644) in the mid to late 16th century. The outer surface is coated in a dark blue glaze whilst the inner surface is coated in a white glaze. To the base are thick globules of crawled blue glaze.

A rare b/w Kendi of squat globular form, with a short cylindrical neck and a broad horizontal flange, small lipped mouth and a tapering mammiform spout. Decorated in underglazed cobalt-blue with lotus petals filled with classic scroll on the shoulder, and a pair of lion among clouds scroll on the body and spout, with a band of lotus petals beneath. The center of the neck with encircled of diaper pattern, brown wash base...

Chinese late Ming (16th/17th century) Zhangzhou (Swatow) porcelain deep charger decorated in iron-red, green, and black overglaze enamels on a cream-colored crackle glaze ground with a central roundel holding flowering peonies. A band containing four floral panels against a crossed line ground extends around the circumference of the rim. 13" diameter x 2 3/4" high. There is significant wear to the enamels and several very old rim chips (see enlargements 6 and 7)...

Waisted cylindrical form scholar's huanghuali wood brush pot with a slightly raised flat base and three low rounded feet. The feet, base and rim are finished with a finely executed narrow raised band. The honey-browm wood has a varied grain pattern displaying several distinctive guilian “ghost face” whorl patterns. 18th century or earlier. Measures 6”H x 5 5/8” diameter. Very good overall condition with a wonderful patina...

A late Ming dynasty 17th century vase, Wanli period with rounded body and with slight broad mouth rim, decorated with white slip of crane in flight among cloud scrolls on cobalt-blue ground. Possibly Wanli period. Condition with a chip to inner rim with associated hairline visible on the last enlargement, otherwise is in very good condition. Height: 23 cm.

A rare motif of b/w saucer dish, decorated at the interior center with a crab within single circle. Late Ming period 16th-17th century. Condition is perfect, no any chip and no crack, unfortunately not too well balance standing because affected by the sands on the base. Diameter: 10.5cm

 

Description: A Ming Longquan Li-typed censer was kept in very fine condition. Well mold and heavily glazed, the tripod censer was in typical lake-green tint when whitish ridges were on the body along everted feet. Charming crackles, pinpoints condition and darken hue in portions verified it a true old piece. Brownish red was obvious in the center of the cavetto where the body clay was revealed...
