Golden bamboo spreads its leaf laden branches about the rim of this aka-e Kinsai bowl by Kyoto potter Takahashi Seizan and decorated by the famous painter Hashimoto Kansetsu enclosed in the original signed wooden box. It is 6-1/2 inches (17 cm) square and in excellent condition. This is from the personal collection of painter Konoshima Keika (1892-1974). A doucai tea bowl decorated with six groups of geometric shapes on the outside of the bowl on a white ground. The interior is similarly decorated with a single grouping. The base with a six character under-glaze blue Yongzheng mark surrounded by double blue under-glaze blue circles.

Chinese Republic period porcelain plaque decorated in famille rose enamels with the eight immortals standing outdoors under a pine tree with bats flying overhead. Produced by the Jiangxi Porcelain Company at Pearl Mountain and dated 1924. Nice quality wood frame. Porcelain measures 15 1/8" x 9 7/8" (with frame: 16 3/8" x 11 1/4"). Very good overall condition. There are tiny brown scattered spots in the glaze from the original production...
