Rare Chinese Song Dynasty Cizhou Stoneware Jar / Bottle

This very rare stoneware jar was made during the Song Dynasty (AD 960 - 1279), at one of the kilns in northern China where Cizhou wares were produced during the 11th - 14th centuries. Its purpose was most likely to be used as a wine bottle. It is heavily-potted and of a very attractive form, an almost egg-shaped body, with a short neck, flared mouth and loop handles on either side of the neck (although one has been lost)...

Korean Koryo Dynasty 13th/14th Century Glazed Stoneware Bottle / Jar

This attractively-shaped stoneware bottle was made during the 13th / 14th century. It has a wide round body, a short narrow neck and a cup-shaped mouth. The surface is coated in a finely-crackled olive-green glaze, the colour varying in places according to its thickness. In places where the glaze is particularly thin, it has degraded a little over time and flaked from the surface.

Fine Large Chinese Qianlong 18th Century Imari Porcelain Dish

This fine-quality porcelain dish with attractive floral pattern in underglaze blue, red enamel and gilding, was made during the 18th century, most likely during the Qianlong reign (1736 - 1795). There is a brown iron wash around the rim edge to prevent "fritting" of the glaze during firing. A cinnabar lacquered tray was preserved finely in good condition.
In rectangular shape yet by intriguingly curved sides, the dish was concaved inside and was with grandeur design of beautiful scenery in the center.
On the border, There was decoration of vibrant flowers, fruits, branches and leaves around.
Supported by Ru-Yi shaped feet, the dish was painted underside with black lacquer.
By original condition, there’re some fret found on the ridges of the motifs.

Measuring 11 3/4" high and 4" across base, this Okimono of a Bijin holds a scroll, which has unfurled to her feet, where a cat plays with it. In rich colors and heavy enamel, the figure is both serene and elegant. Nice detail on the robes and clothing, with gilt details on her hair ornaments and along the edge of the scroll. Excellent condition, no chips, cracks or losses to enamel. Late Meiji, ca 1900
