An elegant men's headgear dating around 1900, consisting of the cone-shaped indoor headdress and the outdoor heungnip or gat. Both are made of horsehair, the gat with a bamboo brim and gauze chin straps. The top part of the hat with a lacquered blossom. Condition: traces of usage, some splits near the bamboo brim. Dimension: gat: diameter 32 cm x c. 14 cm high, headdress: c. 14 cm high.

Suspended from its original green silk knotted cord, an agate bead leads to this intricate silver metal Chinese toggle. Tiny bells are suspended from either side. Hanging from the center is a small coral bead and a large turquoise bead. The metal is silver color but is assumed to be low grade. measures 3.5 from the 1st bead below the cord knot to the lowest bell. The cord and knot add another 3.5 inches of length

An Indian Kalamkari mat, probably from Coromandel coast, made of slightly padded and quilted chintz. The cotton ground is block-printed and painted with a central medallion surrounded by meandering exotic flowers and crenelation. Lined with printed cotton, indigo dyed fabric edging. Condition: clean, few very small old mends, little small age stains. Dimension: 121 cm x 83 cm.

This handmade pair of Tibetan boots was typically used by the Tibetan Minority groups for centuries. Each regional Tibetan group used its own distinct colored thread design pattern. Monks and officials also could be recognized by the thread design of their boots. These were a "commoners" boot and judging by their size, they were used by a young teenager. I suspect that they were only worn once or twice and they are in wonderful condition. Heel to toe they measure 9" and stand 12" high.

A large Korean Buncheong (Pun-Chong) pottery bottle from the Joseon period (16th-17th century) covered in a creamy white glaze decorated on the flat sides with exaggerated floral scrolls on a dark ground; carved ringlets filled with dark slip on the sides. Color built up over the centuries fills the crackled glaze. The foot ring is rough with sand and excess glaze, and occasional windows in the glaze about the foot reveal the dark clay beneath...
