The paint decoration is worn, and appears to represent a bird figure, with additional geometric designs over the body and top. Aryballoi of this size and form were utilized for perfume or other precious oils, and date to the 6th century BC...

An Edo Period Kozuka (utility knife handle.) Kinko (mixed soft metals) decoration on shakudo alloy with nanako (fish roe textured) background. Depicted in a farmer with horse in water plowing in prepartion to plant rice. A willow or other weeping tree, to one side, not yet with blooms. Nicely detailed with featured highlighted with gold and silver overlay. The water nicely textures with an itame (wood grain) effect. Serviceable, fair to good condition...

Beautiful carving in the Balinese Art Deco style made of heavy tropical wood. Bearded man traditionally dressed with kris on his back, holding and feeding his gamecock. Condition: filled crack going through one foot and base. Dimension: 52.7 cm high, weight: 3'045 g.

From Yunnan Province, this minority hand woven open container has wonderful age and patina. The wife said it was used at family dinners for pouring wine, the husband said used for pouring tea. I just smiled and nodded in agreement. The piece was obviously woven tight enough to contain liquid. There is a small piece of bamboo inserted into the basket spout which aids in controlling the flow. Condition is very good and the piece measures 8" x 5" high.

Crackle porcelain vase decorated with chilongs and floral sprays on the body and lotus petals on the neck. Glazed base. Ming Dynasty, late 16th Century. Height = 21.5 cm Condition : part of the top is missing and repairing, other is very good condition.

Crackle porceain decorated with polychrome flower on the center, the cavetto divided into 4 panels and decorated alternately with floral sprays and trelis pattern, unglazed base. PERIOD : late Ming (1566-1643 AD) MEASUREMENTS: 29 cm wide. CONDITION: very good, no chips, cracks, hairlines and free from restorations.

Thinly and well balance potted, decorated to outside with pine, prunus and bamboo tree, such called as Three Friends of Winter. Ming dynasty 16th century Jiajing ware. Condition with a tiny chip and slight long crack visible on enlargement 7, otherwise is good condition. Diameter: 9.5cm and High: 6cm.

 

Blue and White jar decorated with two kind of eight precious things : the mirror (zhing) to counteracts evil and lozenge as a symbol of victory, lotus interlocking, lotus petal scroll to the foot and prêt patern on the shoulder ; . An antique wood statue of the Boddhisattva Wei Tuo, the guardian of the Buddhist principles, dating to the late Qing dynasty. Carved in two parts with gilding and red color. He is standing on a rock imitating base, dressed as a warrior and holding the vajra staff. Condition: one hand with tiny losses, parts of scarf missing, top of helmet with a lost insert, vajra staff, one hand and back with glued patches. Dimension: total height: 38.5 cm, figure: 31.5 cm, weight: 1300 g.

This hand made beater board was used with an old backstrap loop by one of the hill tribes of northern Thailand. Now, as a folk art tool from another culture, it is an authentic ethnographic artifact and is also an interesting piece of sculpture.

The beater board is 4 inches wide and 27+ inches long, and has lost a few "teeth" with age.
