Beautifully crafted, with the iron surface appearing like stone, this large tetsubin measures 10 3/4" high, 7" wide to tip of spout, with the body measuring 5". Elegant sterling silver and black obsidian necklace designed and signed circa 1950's by Taxco, Mexico modernist Antonio Pineda (1919-2009). The necklace will comfortably fit up to a 16 1/2" neck. The necklace drapes beautifully and is in exquisite condition with no issues. Fully hallmarked. The clasp is tight and secure. Antonio designs have been included in numerous museum collections and exhibits.
A Ming Zhengde - Jiajing 16th century blue glazed ewer, flattened pear shape body with straight spout and curving handle, the ewer covered with blue glaze.

In the mid-1800's, an unknown artist painted the face of a young Black boy in warm, soft colors, and unbeknown to the artist, forever immortalized the young boy's image! Since that time a variety of items were been produced in the image of the "Young Black boy with the Torn Hat" or "Johnny Griffin".
This circa 1920-30's Johnny Griffin item is constructed in solid brass and was designed for use as a pipe rack although it could hold spoons or even neckties...

The exterior of the deep rounded sides carved with a band of petals rising from the foot to the flat everted rim, and the interior decorated in the center with two molded fish, covered overall with a glaze of guan type sea-green tone except for the foot rim burnt reddish-brown in the firing 14.5 cm diam. No chips, cracks or hairlines and free from restoration.
