Description: A pair of porcelain whistling dolls were in creamy white slip and were sketched with black paint. Except one broken ankle on the left foot of the bigger one and was glued back, then two of them in very good condition. They whistled well even after 800 years. Height: 5.8cm, 5.0cm.

Mother of pearl is inset into the silver powder dusted lattice set between red lacquered pillars forming this art-deco era lacquer vase enclosed in the original signed wooden box by Iwamura Sadao (1912-1944). A brass insert which rests perfectly between the four corners allows for flowers. The strong geometric patterning embodies the Art Deco style so popular in Japan in the 1930s. The cutest bumble bee broach is made of 14Kt yellow gold; the body is set with an 810X 8 mm oval faceted amethyst and a 7 X 5 mm oval cabochon moonstone. The eyes are 1.5 mm bezel set round faceted rubies. The broach is 1” wide and 7/8” high.
A signed Japanese Oribe shallow bowl. Zen landscape decoration of a lone figure in boat with mountain in background and tree over hut in foreground. The decoration in brown wash over crackled opaque white ground with blue-green splashed glaze on two sides of the bowl. A pleasing iridescent-like range of colors from yellow-green to dark-blue as well as iron red are evident in the pleasantly crazed areas of blue-green glaze when inspected closely...

A small (under 2 inches diameter) antique Chinese blue and white porcelain covered cosmetic or seal paste box. Rabbit decoration in cobalt on white slip centered on the cover. An otherwise translucent glaze with faint celadon pooling over the top and bottom with ribbed sides suggesting petals of a lotus blossom. Probably late Ming or transitional. There is one small chip outside of the rim of the cover. A slightly larger chip inside and interrupting the rim...

Beautiful rare Quianlong 18th century porcelain large bowl or charger exquisite Floral motif in soft enamels. Measuring approx. 14 inches in diameter and 2 inches deep. In excellent condition no chips or cracks with wear to the enamels. A fine early example would be a fine addition to any collection.
Of typical triangular shape. These netsuke were often carved by plectrum carvers. Made in Kyoto in the 18th century. H. 10 cm. Good age wear and patina, very good condition, even the feet are intact. Comes with a custom made brass stand.
19th century (Qing Dynasty) Chinese Manchu style robe embroidered in gold couched threads highlighted in copper and blue-grey metallic threads with 8 visible 5-clawed dragons, plus one hidden dragon on the inside flap, depicted in full-face and profile poses against a blue ground. Each dragon is chasing a flaming pearl (symbolizing the Buddhist notion of enlightenment) and is surrounded by clouds and various auspicious symbols...
The exterior of the deep rounded sides carved with a band of petals rising from the foot to the flat everted rim, and the interior decorated in the center with two molded fish, covered overall with a glaze of guan type sea-green tone except for the foot rim burnt reddish-brown in the firing 14.5 cm diam. No chips, cracks or hairlines and free from restoration.
