A rather unusual Peruzzi Boston sterling silver cuff bracelet with fantastic patina and truly fun to wear! Unlike most of the designs that the Peruzzi Family is known for, this piece veers away from the Renaissance Revival themes to explore more "ethnic", tribal or even gypsy style motifs. The extensive beading, protruding appliques along the face and the musical dangles hanging off its lower perimeter bespeak its earthiness and "exotic" flair...

Big, beautifully crafted and early as is indicated by the low design number this Deco Los Castillo silver brooch is wrought en repoussage in what seems to have been a favored motif among Mexican silversmiths and designers at the time. Fern leaves inspired rings, clamper bracelets, brooches and necklaces and of course, earrings. The design comes in variations enough to ensure that everybody will find a piece that appeals to them. The specific version, however, I have never encountered before...

The Kura

At first glance this appears to simply be a large image of a burning tree, however, look again and find the tree like figure is in the from of two entwined lovers, flames leaping from their impassioned bodies. This was likely made as an exhibition work, as it certainly would be difficult to fit into even a large Japanese home. The piece is signed Yoneda Mio, (Yoneda Mionosuke), and likely dates from the 1930s...

A stunner of a brooch, this Antonio Pineda sterling silver and amethyst floral cluster hails the maestro's finding himself as a modernist. Antonio's early pieces betray the strong influence Valentin Vidauretta exerted on his work, so much so that one acquainted with Pineda's classic design period would find it difficult to recognize them as Antonio creations. Yet here, the artist has already found his "hand". Minimalism yet full of exuberant life, sculpturality that makes you want to hold the br...

Obviously based on Matilde Poulat's "moth" design, an early Deco silver and turquoise ring that could hail from Mexico City yet it's difficult to say since it's unmarked. "Moth" jewelry does not come up very often and I am thrilled to have found this ring - it would be a great match for the Gomez brooch of the same design also available in my inventory (just take a look at item no 1112471). The ring at hand is not your run-of-the-mill, hastily put together modern emulation of a Matl piece; p...
