A Gorham sterling silver open sugar bowl dated 1899. This 2-3/4" tall tableware serving piece measures 7" across the handles and it is stamped with the Gorham lion/anchor/G STERLING mark with the Gorham year cipher for 1899. It weighs 209 grams and it is in excellent condition with no bends, corrosion or damage and it has a fancy engraved RLA (or RSA) monogram. William Spratling's largest chain design is a first phase hallmark and one inch tall. Being 8 in. long it is suitable for a man or a woman. The fit is like a bangle for a woman and the hook clasp does takes up some of the wearable length. There is a curve/groove running down it's center with great dimension which is accentuated with the solid silver being 7mm thick. The color is a beautiful white with almost pure silver of at least 980 silver weighing 121 grams. Impressive at 1in. tall...

The golden orb shines out like the light of Buddhism from between the dark clouds on this exquisite 19th century image by Wada Gozan, priest of Jinko-in Temple. Ink and gold-pigment on silk in a patterned silk border with wood rollers in a period kiri-wood box titled Tsuki no ga Yokomono Ippuku (1 wide painting of moon) Wada Gozan koto (of Wada Gozan), annotated by Kuten. It is 25 x 48-1/2 inches (63.5 x 123.5 cm) and is in overall fine condition, with a minor wrinkle in the lower border...

Antonio Pineda's designs are timeless as is this 970 sterling silver & black obsidian necklace from the 1950's. Carved crescents of black obsidian frame the intricate silver work at the center. Pendant with bail measures 3" high X 2.3" across. The velvet cord measures 23 inches long and made to tie in the back at your preferred length. The velvet is finished with 2 heavy sterling silver balls. Both pendant and velvet cord are in beautiful condition. Perfect for dress or casual wear.

Mandle made lovely pins representing stringed instruments, most similar in the size and the use of materials. This charmer is gold plated and uses mother of pearl, beads and rhinestones. 2 3/4" by 1 5/8". Mandle's oval signature plate is on the back.

A Northern Plains native American pipe with a carved Catlinite bowl and original twisted reed stem. Circa 1870-80. Overall length: 30". The twisted stem has brass tack decoration at the bowl end and attaches to an elbow shaped red Catlinite pipe bowl. Excellent condition, except for a hole in the twisted reed stem.

A fabulous 17th century Koro (Momoyama to early Edo period) covered in black lacquer inlayed with minute mother of pearl shippo designs around circular windows featuring floral motifs. The lid is solid silver, pierced with overlapping floral designs. The windows feature grape, plum, bamboo and other seasonal imagery important in Asian cultures. It is 11 cm diameter and in overall excellent condition considering the age.

A fine large Qianlong celadon porcelain plate marked. It was decorated with a rebus of fortune, five bats, a rebus of happiness surrounding a central longevity character medallion in cobalt blue on a lustrous celadon glaze. The bottom was marked with the seal mark in underglaze blue and gilt. Condition : Perfect, no chips, cracks, hairlines or restoration. Dating: Qianlong mark and period (AD1735 - 1796); Diameter: 21 cm

In the early 1940's Spratling designed this sterling silver and enamel pin to raise money for the Mexican Red Cross. It measures 1" across. Guest curator Penny Morrill included this design in the museum exhibit WILLIAM SPRATLING AND THE MEXICAN SILVER RENAISSANCE. It's pictured on p. 36 of her book that accompanied the exhibition. The pin is also pictured on Phyllis Goddard's spratlingsilver.com where she explains that this is the only known example of Spratling enameling...

Offered is the fabulously RARE BIGGER HAIR Negro Tobacco container produced from the mid 1940's through the early 1960's.
