Beautiful handmade vintage 1940's sterling silver, amethyst and turquoise necklace designed and signed by Mexico artist Matilde Poulat. Poulat signed her designs MATL. Rare hand wrought 940 silver necklace designed & signed in the 1940's by Taxco, Mexico artist Valentin Vidauretta (1902-55). The necklace weighs 123 grams, 4.3 oz. This is the silver "pillow" bracelet by William Spratling. It is from his first design period, 1931-1946. Measuring 8" around in the inside and 1 1/8" wide, it has a pin closure and is in fine original condition. It weighs 86 grams and is featured on page 43 of the book MEXICAN SILVER by Morrill and Berk. This is one of Spratlings' most recognizable bracelets and one of the most beautiful.

Voluptuous floral and bead and bar design sterling bracelet by Valentin Vidaurreta who established his first workshop in Mexico City in 1936, then moved to Taxco in 1941 where he designed principally for Hector Aguilar until 1952 and also had a small workshop of his own. From a private collection, this is a stunning sterling necklace and two bracelets sold at the Rancho Alegre, the largest silver shop in Taxco during the 1960s-70s. The designer initials are TRM . I do not know who this silversmith is, however, they sold their work at the Rancho Alegre. This smashing set consists of a 17" necklace and two 8" bracelets. A rare and spectacular mid-century modern sterling pin by Carmen Beckmann. The center features 2 Mexican jelly opals and green stones that I believe are tourmaline. The stones are bezel set and the color combination is striking. The irregular shapes of the green stones and the varied lengths of the jutting silver spokes make this design fascinating. It is unique down to the clasp which is a simple "C" clasp with an interlocking safety catch that slides up to hold the pin securely in place...

Fine ooriginal condition, it measures 7" around in the inside of the bracelet and is 1" wide. It weighs 129 grams, has a secure push in clasp and intact safety chain. It is signed and numbered for Antonio Pineda as shown in the photo. A very fine bracelet.

This amethyst and sterling pin by Taxco artist Fred Davis is featured on page 24 of the book MEXICAN SILVER by Morrill and Berk. They date the pin c. 1928. Davis combined silver and amethyst in many of his most celebrated pieces. This pin measures 1 3/4" diameter and is in fine original condition. There are no chips or cracks to the stones and none have been replaced. Hallmarked for Fred Davis as shown. An important early piece by this creative visionary.

A stunning 970 silver and moonstone bracelet by Antonio Pineda. The stones are clear and blue, all original and no chips or cracks. Measuring 6 3/4" around in the inside, it is 3/4" wide.
