A male back Mandarin square with a leopard, denoting the 3rd military rank. Silk tapestry (kossu, k'o-suu) with metallic threads and painted details. The animal is standing on a rock above deep water, the ground with Taoist longevity symbols. The background was probably covered by peacock feathers, rarely survived to the present days. Porcelain decorated with qilin on the center, continous floral scroll on the exterior, glazed base. PERIOD : Early Ming (1400-1487 AD) MEASUREMENTS: 27 cm wide. CONDITION: ezcellent, no chips, cracks, or hairlines and free from restoration.
This old carpenter's detail handsaw was clearly home made by an experienced carpenter craftsman who took pride in his work. It is decorated with delicately carved swirls of clouds and has metal fittings for strength. It has the original blade which was sharpened to cut on both forward and back strokes and is still remarkably sharp. This saw was (according to my carpentry friend) was probably used for fine marquetry work. The saw measures 11" long. It is a rare find and a pleasure to own.

The origin of this antique velvet ikat is not obvious. Some authors describe it of Persian, others of Central Asian origin. Striped fabric lining. Cf. Bühler, Alfred : Ikat Batik Plangi, Basel 1972 : No. 123. Condition: splits, repairs, holes, wear, stitched together with one seam, faded. Dimension : 60 cm x 105 cm.
A very fine antique Japanese Ivory netsuke of a Buddhist monk and a Oni figure. Artist signed very fine intricate carving the Buddha has a gold pin third eye on his forehead. Measuring approx. 2 inches tall or 5 centimeters. Truly a masterfully carved piece.
This is a tall and handsome black glazed Yuan dynasty (1277-1367) stoneware yuhuchun ping. The yuhuchun ping stand on a short splay foot rim rising up to a pear shaped body narrowing upwards to a long slender and elegantly waisted neck towards a everted trumpet like mouth. On the pear shaped body of the Yuhuchun Ping, it is painted with 2 set of symmetrical dark rust-brown floral sprays. The floral sprays is painted in a very beautiful, strong and forceful stroke of dark iron rust-brown paint...
An extraordinary, wooden figure of a tiger with a very long tail, sitting on a rockwork. It has an almost humanized facial expression and the mouth corners are showing small canines. It is painted with green and different brown pigments. Dating to the Joseon dynasty. Condition: partially lost or agglomerated coloring, some pigment fissures, few small cracks, one fang is worn. Dimension: total height: 35 cm x c. 15 cm x 17 cm.

This six of antique Chinese teacups has a glossy brown glaze, which is typical for the so-called Batavia wares. The interior is decorated with a spray flower and a narrow band along the rim.
