This large embroidered money belt was used by Miao man for festival. The front face has delicate embroidery which is chain stitched over a black velvet background. The rear is padded and quilted home spun, indigo dyed cotton fabric. There are several areas between the different fabrics which are used as pockets for the storage of possessions. Very good condition, circa 1900-1910. excluding belt loops piece measures 21" across and 13 inches high

VERY RARE Hector Aguilar Aztec Flowers cuff bracelet c. 1940-55 in 940 silver. Description: An exqusite wood carving depicts magpies on plum branches. With skillful craftsmanship, two birds playing within knaggy branches was naturally carved on the construction of the openwork. An example of Chinese traditional wood work. A reserved inlay piece was believed 'cause grooves were obvious on the reverse side. From the CongJiang in Gui Zhou province, this drinking horn is carved from water buffalo. It is a thick (and heavier weighted horn) which, according to my Miao friends is considered an inferior horn. So, this piece would have been owned by a "Poorer" family. It is wonderful primitive art object with carvings that are full of symbols reflecting Miao culture and legends. The hole in the tip would have held a string or metal ring to facilitate hanging the horn...

A blue & white large dish, with foliated lip rim and fluted sides cavetto, the center decorated with scroll motif and classic scroll around the rim. Ming dynasty early 16th century, Zhengde period (1506-1521). Condition is perfect, with no chips and no cracks, except some firing imperfection appears on the surface, otherwise is a fine pieces. Diameter: 31.8 cm.

Evald Nielsen ( 1879-1958 ) opened his workshop in Denmark in 1907. His style is very similar to that of Georg Jensen and there are those who think Nilesens' work is of even better quality. This spectacular sterling and lapis Art Nouveau pin measures 2 1/8" by 2 1/8". The bursting lapis bud provides the focal point of the pin and is surrounded by luscious sterling foliage. It is in beautiful original condition and signed as shown. It is magnificent in every way.

A beautiful sterling and carnelian Art Deco ring by Georg Jensen Denmark. I have never seen this ring offered before and believe it to be quite rare, perhaps custom made. Anasazi culture corrugated drinking vessel circa 1300 AD a grey pottery with smooth interior and handle with corrugated exterior design. Han Dynasty Cocoon Jar (206 BC-220 AD). The distinctively plump, ovoid form of this jar, imitating the shape of a silkworm cocoon, has a fair amount of the original paint remaining on the body. Characteristic swirling cloud / scroll designs in reddish-pink and white cold-paint pigments decorate the surface. This jar is in very good, “as excavated” condition with no visible repairs, one chip to the rim of the mouth (see photos), as well as some burial dirt still attached...

This exquisite platinum ring was made by Jabel in the 1960-s. The center stone is an 11X13 millimeter oval cabochon tourmaline cat's-eye which weighs approximately 12Ct. The cat's-eye is surrounded by 16 high quality pave set brilliant-cut diamonds. The approximate total weight of all diamonds is 1.0Ct. The shank is tamped Jabel and 900Plat. 100Irid.

Fine antique portrait of a Thoroughbred race horse at the race track. Oil on canvas signed lower left Hillyard and dated 1894. Hillyard is a listed artist known for animal subjects. Description: A strand of rosaries was assembled by 108 pieces of old Zhi-Tan beads. Among them, old coral and elephant bone beads were decorated. Old beads were getting hard to find. All these beads were believed from Tibet, now were ingeniously strung as a decoration item. Date: Late 19th Century.
