A large Korean Buncheong (Pun-Chong) pottery bottle from the Joseon period (16th-17th century) covered in a creamy white glaze decorated on the flat sides with exaggerated floral scrolls on a dark ground; carved ringlets filled with dark slip on the sides. Color built up over the centuries fills the crackled glaze. The foot ring is rough with sand and excess glaze, and occasional windows in the glaze about the foot reveal the dark clay beneath...

2 gallon stoneware crock or churn by Julius Norton of Bennington Vt, 1859 - 1861.
Measures 11 1/4" high and 8 1/2" diameter at base.
Stamped at shoulder and neck with Julius Norton's name and location, the #2 below the stamp.
This form is sometimes considered a churn, but can function as a crock also.
Decorated with the double bird design, very rare and desirable.
Very vivid cobalt decoration, with blue highlights over the stamped name, location, and size.

A rich olive green silk taffeta costume from around 1865 / 70 included a lovely silk jacket with long wide pagoda shaped sleeves, has fitted bodice and wide neckline, front closure with hooks and hand made loops...
Chinese Qing dynasty natural root form scholar’s bitong, or brushpot. 7 1/2” high. The base measures about 6” diameter at the longest part. The rim is about 4 5/8” across at the widest part. Late 19th to early 20th century. Very good overall condition. There is a short crack at the inner rim that extends to the interior of one thin concave area on the exterior. This piece is from the private collection of former American expatriates to Hong Kong in the 1970s and 1980s.

A Chinese jade carving shaped as a lotus pod and incised and carved with prunus flowers, the endless knot and a bird in flight. The stone is of celadon hue mottled with russet. This is an elegant and superbly carved composition depicting auspicious objects . Age: 17/18 C. condition: excellent, no breaks no restoration. This Toba-e E-maki appears to be a 19th century Gi-ga follower of the later 18th to early 19th century Osaka "Manga-ka" Nichosai (Matsudaira Heisaburo). His humorous images of Hell were quite popular, known as Kakuyu painting. Overall the genre has many names, Gi-ga being all encompassing, Toba-e being descriptive of this particular style, and Kakuyu-fu being the style of Nichosai.
