A design that doesn’t come up very often, these figural Mexican Deco silver earrings by Los Castillo remind me of Old World “wind” representations. I love the sense of powerful forward motion they convey with the curling repousse silverwork and the feather-like trail that the “winds” leave behind them as they sweep through the skies. Thai 14th - 15th Century Underglazed Sukhothai Bowl

This stoneware bowl was made at the Sukhothai kilns during the 14th - 15th century. The striking floral / geometric pattern is in underglaze iron-brown on top of a white slip. The honey-coloured clear glaze is finely-crackled. The glaze is at its thickest to the upper surface. On the underside the glaze is thinner and has degraded in places leaving a matt surface. To the centre are five "spur marks". The base remains unglazed...

This is a set of traditional lacquer bowls from Thailand. There is a single gold mythical animal, balu-gwin, at the bottom of the inside and a three balu-gwin spaced around the outside. The gold rim with key design surrounds the rim of each of the 5 bowls.

In wonderful condition, each bowl is approx 5 inches wide at the rim and 2.5 inches high.

Fine Vietnamese 14th / 15th Century Moulded Bowl

This rare bowl was made during the 14th - 15th century and is coated in a finely-crackled yellowish-brown glaze, the depth of colour varying according to its thickness. Around the centre is a wide unglazed stacking ring, and around the inner wall are various moulded leaf and floral patterns. Apart from unintentional glaze splashes, the foot remains unglazed.

This pair of Matl Salas (after 1978) clip earrings are repousse that is magnificently carved. They are birds in flight with an enviable presence. These are difficult to obtain in this large size, no damage and the clips are nice and tight. The height is 1 3/8th in. and they are 2.25in. across.

Japanese scrolled painting on paper by Okutani Ichiyo, also known as Okutani Kazuyo, depicting a leafy vine with petunia flowers under the sliver of a moon. Signed Ichiyo with the red artist's seal below. Elaborate silk brocade scroll mounting with lacquer scroll ends. Early 20th century. Scroll: 75 1/2” x 12 3/4” (painting: 50 1/4” x 11 7/8”). This wonderful blue and white swirl enamelware soap set is quite unique with covers for each of the three dishes. Meant to hang on a wall, each metal jar is for a different kind of soap. Circa 1920's-30's it is in great condition for its age. Minor dings on lids & edges, the bottom of the "savon noir" container has a large ding - but nothing at all to detract from the charm of this rare find. Measures approx 15-1/2" long, 6-1/2" to highest, jars are 4" in diameter at widest.
