This vintage Navajo cuff bracelet measures 1 1/4", tapering to 3/4". The central turquoise stone has an irregular shape and is sawtooth bezel-set. The back is signed John Chavez (in script) and 1975. The sides have nice stampwork.
Vintage filigree niello silver Persian Gulf scenery bracelet that while being shown at a show several years ago, was seen by an elderly engineer who worked in Iran in the 50s. He said, '...this bracelet was commissioned by the Shah of Iran as a gift in gratitude for the wives of engineers who were there building the oil fields...' The groups of Yao minority live in in both China and Thailand. This necklace is of low grade silver which was typical of the Chinese jewelry around the late 1800's and early 1900's. The necklace is light weight and comfortable to wear.
A lovely Chinese carved green jade pendant in the form of a melon with a crane, leaf and integral bail ring. The jade has good translucency, light mottling, and nicely saturated color.
The crane, appearing along the upper left side of the melon's front, frequently represents longevity; the coins prosperity; and the melon itself has a number of meanings including fertility and plenty.
The pendant was originally one of several carvings incorporated into a very good 1920s Chinese necklace...
