A classic Pforzheim school silver Jugendstil brooch decorated with plique-a-jour enamels, moldavite and seed pearls. The translucent enamels have the velvety texture and very subtle coloring typical of many Pforzheim jewels of the period. The reverse is marked "Depose 900" and has the maker's mark for Karl Hermann (Hermann & Speck), one of the leading German Art Nouveau jewelers.

Here is an interesting portrait in silver, of a wind-swept young person clad in a cloak and hood. It’s very detailed and just lovely. We think it’s a boy (very unusual in jewelry), as the hair seems to be quite short under the hood. The hood itself looks like a cap made from a flower, as seen on fairies in Victorian children’s books. It measures 1-1/8” wide, is hollow, and is marked “STERLING TOP GERMAN SILVER BACK”. The sterling front is in very good condition...

This large, lavish Art Nouveau design 2-1/2" x 1-7/16" pin features subtle and lovely lavender enamel flowers and borders, and it is on a textured sterling ground. Marked “DEPOS” (probably meant to be “DEPOSE”, which translates roughly as “patented”), it is probably from Germany. There are two illegible marks, one on the C-clasp, and one on the back. It tests as silver, measures 1-3/4” x 3/4", and weighs 4.4 g...

This 14-3/4" drop lavaliere necklace features a central 2-1/4" x 1-1/4" drop with clear paste stones and two large ones in deep amethyst purple. It is a heart shape variant with the graceful curvy lines so popular at the time. It is unmarked but tests as high grade silver, sterling or near sterling. This impressive sterling silver pin features a decoration of detailed engraved flowers and latticework. It was made by the LaPierre Mfg. Co. of Newark, NJ, and New York City, and bears the maker’s mark on the back, as well as the sterling mark. It has a very secure C-clasp and tube hinge typical of the period. The brooch measures 2 7/8 inches by 2 3/8 inches.

This silver buckle is so perfectly Art Nouveau and so perfectly William B. Kerr. It is 5 1/4" wide and 1 5/8" high and bears these markings: PATENTED JUNE 25, 1901; STERLING; 1564; and the fasces [maker's mark for Kerr]. It is in excellent condition, and the patina of age has been left undisturbed. Circa 1900.

An elegant Art Nouveau silver brooch depicting a maiden smelling a rose. She is surrounded in a bower of climbing roses and enclosed in a frame of whiplash curves typical of French Art Nouveau. The clasp is marked for silver and bears the maker's mark of Fernand Boursot, who opened shop in Paris in 1894. THe brooch could be converted to a pendant with the addition of a bail at the top or a pair of bails and a split chain at the upper corners.
