Bold and beautiful with a Modernist design, this stunning bracelet by Antonio Pineda is a fine example of his craftmanship and artistry. At the corner of each heavy thick silver link is a light blue faceted Spinel and another spinel tops the push in clasp. Measures 6 7/8" long, 3/4" wide and weighs 95.3 grams. Hallmarked with the Antonio Taxco Crown, Hecho en Mexico, 970 and the eagle 17. A timeless and elegant bracelet.

Composed of three outwardly curved hinged panels embossed with scenes of Mexican country life. It is secured by a tongue-and-groove clasp and a security chain. The back of the clasp bears the circular mark of CJB; the maker’s name of Diaz Santoyo is impressed on the tongue in block letters (there is no image of this part of the mark). It is also marked 925 for sterling silver. The bracelet measures 1 3/8 inches wide and has an internal circumference of 7 ¼ inches. Weight: 44 grams

A 1-7/8" diameter Mexican sterling silver pendant pin c1950s-60s depicting an impressionistic Mayan head against an inlaid turquoise ground. It has a safety catch, a loop for wear as a pendant, it weighs 13.3 grams and it is stamped indistinctly (TAXCO is legible). Offered on consignment........... Felipe Martinez had been a sculptor before opening his shop in 1950. The shop was called "Piedra Y Plata", (Stone and Silver). Martinez had worked with Hubert Harmon at one time in the 1940's. This bracelet likely dates 1950's. Composed of sixteen curved S links, the amethysts are gorgeous gemstones with deep purple hues, quartz marbling, and natural inclusions. Drapes over the wrist like silk, and looks positively magnificent...

Elegant peaked link necklace in 940 silver by Mexican silversmith Hector Aguilar. This necklace is a choker style that sits perfectly on the neck and terminates with a hook closure. It is 14 1/2" end to end and the links are 1" wide and 7/8" long. Surprising hefty, it weighs 123 grams and is in fine original condition. Signed with the 1940-48 Aguilar hallmark as shown. Signed Silver Mexico this bracelet has a presence that makes it not matter that a major designer has not signed it. It molds to your wrist and the height of the face front is one of the main makers of the fabulous look at almost one inch high. The push pin is hidden under the link to open for the wrist. The weight is 65 grams and the silver is thick. The repousse balls are many and without dents...

This impressive 2 3/4" sterling silver cuff studded with 30 amethyst cabs was hallmarked c. 1940 by Manuel Altamirano, senior silversmith in Hector Aguilar's Taller Borda. Interior length measures 5 1/2" end to end. The gap opening is 1 1/2". Terminals measure 2 3/4" wide, center front is 2 1/2" wide. Weight 79 grams. The bracelet is in beautiful condition. See p. 198 of Silver Masters of Mexico for more detailed information on Altamirano. Pieces signed Altamirano are scarce.

RARE:Set of 4 malachite and sterling SHOT glasses by William Spratling, made during the CONQUISTADOR period, Mexico, c.1949. Spratling had a contract with Conquistador and produced 300 items during 1949-1951. He received royalties for the designs and the items were made by Conquistador. The silver shot glass sits on a square malachite base. They each measure 2" high and the base is 1" square. Each pair is attached with an original piece of twine...

A senor doll motif. Vintage circa 1945 sterling silver pin brooch as a pre assay era figural man with sombrero carrying a crate of 'tomatoes' stamped: SILV MEX - testing at least 90%, tho often these are higher. No doubt by a talented Taxco Mexico Mexican silversmith working in repousse holloware.
The native peoples have been known to make dolls as teaching tools for their children to play...

An unusual pair of twisted Taxco, Mexico Sterling Silver earrings with bronze or copper ends by William Spratling. We have not been able to find another pair in this design. Measure 3/4" across and 5/8' high. Marked on the back of each screw back with Spratling Silver which was used from 1940-44. Screw backs hold securely. Have some tarnish, a tiny ding and minor scratches. Great design. Pre Eagle.
