It also shows the mark for the year 1971. A large cabochon of Baltic amber with a deep, nicely distributed color is mounted within a sterling floral surround; the mounting has a closed back. The amber exhibits hardly any wear. The back has a working original rollover clasp as well as the maker’s mark of Niels Erik From of Denmark. The pin measures about 1 5/8 inches across.

This delicate, charming silver gilt bar pin features lavender guilloche enamel work surrounded by a thin border of black enamel and a milligrain-like textured edge. Three circles of white enamel grace each end of the pin. The pin bears the mark of Marius Hammer, Bergen, Norway (1847-1927), and dates to the early 20th century. The original C-clasp has been expertly replaced; the piece retains its original pin stem. It measures 1 5/8 inches long by a little over ¼ inch wide at the center.

Marked with the flying hammer for the maker, Crown for Finland, 830H for the silver standard, Finland, and the marks for Turku and 1970.

Nice weight and condition, warm patina...
