Los Castillo Design 108 Mexican Silver Bracelet is truly stunning. Dimensions entail: a 2.5 inch inside diameter, 2 inch height, a weight of 60 grams. Both the necklace and this bracelet are featured in the new book by Penny Morrill: DREAMING IN SILVER
Circa pre-1960, this necklace produced by Matilde Poulat has a generous length of 23", with a 3 1/4" wide center. There are amethyst stations on each side, with double chains continuing up the neck. The palomas sit next to a vase with turquoise flowers. Length on the center is 2 1/2".
Weight is a substantial 91.1 grams.
Signed and hallmarked "Matl Mexico 925 Patente 10966", along with the eagle assay 129.

A modernist sterling silver smoky quartz cabs pin from the 1950s. This retro vintage gilt sterling silver pin measures 2-3/8" x 1-1/4". It has a great high style modern angular design. It features claw-set genuine smoky quartz cabochon stones and it is stamped STERLING with a facing double R maker's mark. It weighs 11.1 grams, and it is in excellent condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs.

This elegant silver box was handcrafted in Mexico City during the 1940's. It measures 8"L X 3 1/2W " X 1" high & weighs 1 lb. 5 Oz. The subtle scallop design is worked into thick silver on all sides. The wood lined interior creates 3 compartments. Both wood and silver are in beautiful condition. Hallmarked for SANBORNS on the underside. This handmade wide band ring features a random design of molten drops on a textured surface. The irregular band shape has an upturned edge along the top, where the opposite edge comes to a rounded point. It bears the post-1967 Italian mark for silver, hallmarked for the city of Siena; the hallmark is double-struck, so the maker's number could read 722, 712 or something similar...
A well crafted, highly detailed sterling silver insect brooch with opals on the wings, a chrysoprase body and onyx eyes. Measures 1 7/8" long and 1 5/8" at the widest. Marked on the underside with a conjoined 'SJ' or 'JS' logo and 925 for sterling. Has an earlier 'C' clasp which holds securely. Included is the original box with the same hallmark. Box also has a maker's mark, 'Jorge St?'. We were unable to read the last name and could not determine the artist...
It is always exciting when I stumble upon a Mexican chain necklace made of polished, tumbled hard-stones caged in sterling silver. When that example happens to be from the pre-1948 period, I am elated! A modernist pair of pierced earrings in sterling silver, Calliope, designed by Zoltan Popovits for Lapponia Finland in 1978. These earrings feature an organic plant like design. The polished edges are in contrast to the textured surfaces.
They measures about 1 1/2" long and about 3/8" at the widest.
They are marked Lapponia, 925 and what looks like the town mark for Helsinki on the backs. The clutches are marked the same way...
This beautiful, sterling silver bracelet measures just under 7 1/2" long. Each of the 7 links are bezel-set with colorful abalone. They are shaped like upside down triangles, similar to the later, carved, Aztec mask jewelry. Each link is surmounted on the classic Taxco, Mexico square of 4 round beads / balls. The back is marked ANR 925; but, it was stamped in reverse, see pictures. This great piece is circa 1920's to 1940's.
Large handmade mixed metals(gold and silver) modernist pin with blue oval chalcedony(1 1/4" by 7/8"), c.1960's. The stone is bezel set off center. The design consists of positive and negative space, as shown with applied dimensional gold and silver geometric pieces versus handcut holes.
