Doris Silver was a store in Taxco where artisans could make their jewels in Doris's back room. If she liked the work she would buy it. I have found some of the very best pieces from her shop. A modernist sterling silver brooch with two raised sterling 'pearls' and a raised sterling bar by Sigi Pineda. Design number 54. Measures 2 1/2" long and 1 1/2" across. Marked on the back Sigi Tasco, Hecho en Mexico, Sterling, 54, and Eagle #3. Safety rollover clasp holds securely. In very nice condition. Has minor surface scratches. Interesting contrast of oxidized and shiny sterling. A very beautiful brooch by a talented artisan.

A pair of Taxco, Mexico Sterling Silver earrings with Bronze central domes by William Spratling. These earrings were in the 1945 catalog.

Measure 1 1/4" across. Marked on the back of each screw back with the conjoined WS and Spratling Made in Mexico.

Screw backs hold securely. Have some tarnish, dings and minor scratches.

A flying swallow sterling marcasite brooch pin circa 1930s. This attractive 1930s sterling silver 1-3/8" pin is encrusted with flashy marcasites, it has a safety catch, it weighs 3.6 grams, it is stamped 925, and it is in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are vintage or antique and may have slight signs of gentle use...

Pre-eagle, circa 1930's-early 1940's, this necklace is a gorgeous statement piece.

It's entirely hand-wrought, with a center medallion measuring 4" wide. It's studded with tiny silver beading, and the oxidized background provides great depth and dimension.

An exquisite example of Italian Renaissance Revival jewelry that were so popular with tourists on their Grand Tour at the turn and first few decades of the 20th c. this long pendant necklace is the epitome of “figural”. Not only is its chain interspersed with links representing iconic Italian monuments and coats of arms, its large pendant is a work of art too. I will suggest that the central figure is maybe inspired by Verrocchio’s “Child and Dolphin”...

Featuring a delicate, butterfly-like design, these earrings are unmarked except for a 925 sterling mark, but read Mexican in design. They measure 1 5/8 inches long by 1 inch wide. They are secured by kidney wires with hooks and are worn perpendicular to the ear. Weight: 5.8 grams total

This bracelet features an iconic design by Abraham Paz. Paz designed and produced jewelry not only for himself, but for Fred Davis as well. This piece is composed of five hand-carved and polished obsidian masks which alternate with silver shields. Measures a closed, wearable length of 7 1/8", with a width of 15/16". Weight is 38.2 grams. Signed and hallmarked "AP Sterling Mexico", along with the eagle assay 1. Collector quality.

An Art Deco sterling silver chrysoprase and marcasites ring from the 1920s 1930 period. This size 5 ring is 3/4" across and it features a green genuine chrysoprase curved bevelled stone, surrounded by flashy marquisites in a square setting. The shoulders of the hoop have typical period engraved flower designs and this lovely ring weighs 4.2 grams. It is marked STERLING inside the band and it is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, damage or repairs...

A stunning beaded necklace in carved genuine malachite with genuine coral spacers, with a beautifully detailed pendant in the form of a face or mask. Probably circa 1900 or 1910. Possibly Italian. The pendant is held in a silver frame; the slide clasp is marked 14K. From a Pittsburgh estate.

Wearable length is 17 1/2 inches. 1/2 inch wide at sides. The pendant is 1 1/2 inches long, 1 3/8 inches wide, and 5/8 inch deep. Excellent condition...

This ring is a size 11 1/2 (can be resized, of course). It has a cool design, almost foil-like (see pictures). It's just over 1/2" at its highest. It is marked 925. It's a wonderful piece in excellent condition.

This bold and intricate ring is the work of Hans Teppich, an Israeli silversmith who was especially active in Jerusalem during the 1950s. Flattened sterling silver wirework curls around an oval cabochon chrysoprase, which is securely bezel-mounted. The stone bears no scratches or other signs of wear. The band is well wrought and strong. The ring top is large, measuring 1 1/8 inches long by 1 inch wide. The Teppich and sterling marks are inside the band. The ring is sized to a little over a 5.

Offered on consignment... Circa mid-century, here is a large stunning amethyst ring which I believe is from Mexico. It is unmarked. Tested to be 940 silver, so greater than sterling 925. It is a magnificent ring, reminiscent of the work of Fred Davis and Abraham Paz. The amethyst is a gorgeous old stone with quartz marbling, natural inclusions, and lots of character. The stone is free of any flea bites, cracks, or chips...
