This handsome pin is simple yet smart, hand wrought with incised details. It is formed as a jagged-edge leaf and bears the mark of Bob Ford, Canada; it is also marked handmade. Ford was a founding member in 1946 of the Ontario Metal Arts Guild, according to an internet source. The pin tests as sterling although it is not marked for silver content. It measures 1 ¾ inches long by 1 ½ inches wide. Weight: 6.3 grams

Circa mid-century, this parure is an extremely rare design from Margot van Voorhies Carr / Margot de Taxco.

The original design drawing is shown in the Penny C. Morrill book "Margot Van Voorhies: The Art of Mexican Enamelwork".

The necklace consists of three tiers alternating with two round button links, and a thick chain on each side with a ball tassel on one and a hook on the other. This is original to the necklace...

A sterling silver modernist bracelet with nine disks and offset orbs by Danish silversmith, Niels Erik (NE) From. This example is not signed. However it is the same design and measures exactly the same as a signed example. Not sure how that occurred. Priced accordingly.

Measures about 7 1/4" long and 5/8" wide.

Leaf shaped toggle clasp holds securely. The bracelet is in fine condition with a little tarnish.

This massive cuff by Antonio Pineda features a design inspired by the French cave of Lascaux. He made several items with this design which can be found in the book "Silver Seductions" on page 141. This bracelet measures 2 1/4" at the front tapering to 1" at the back with an inside measurement of 5" and an opening of 1 3/4". Very heavy at 135.3 grams. An abstract modernist mixed metals brooch by Irvin and Bonnie Burkee. Copper with sterling silver overlay. Measures 1 1/4" long and 5/8" wide. Has a rollover clasp that holds securely. Marked BURKEE on the back. Has some tarnish and minor surface scratches. Interesting piece from a well know Mid Century artisan.

A superb 835 silver graduated multi loop chain necklace. This well designed and beautifully finished 21-3/4" long .835 silver necklace has a repeating design of graduated interlocking silver loops. It is constructed from a group of four silver loops encircling the next four, and so on; the loops range from 3/16" to 7/16" across. This beauty is stamped .835 and it has a maker's mark (unidentified). It has a spring-ring clasp, and it weighs 57 grams...

A hand engraved sterling silver bangle bracelet from the 1940s-50s with a diamond motif. This bracelet measures 2-1/2 x 2-5/16" across the interior, 8-3/8" in circumference and 3/4" wide. It has a box clasp and two loops for a safety chain (chain not present). It has a repeating diamond with central flower design on the decorated side (the other is undecorated) and it is stamped STERLING with a maker's mark...

There is a 10in span of 3 drops and 2 additional links connected to chain and a thick silver hook. The necklace has a wearable length of 17in. Each drop is a dramatic 2.5in. long and the silver to the links is also thick and made with precision repousse. With a hallmark of STERLING MEXICO and no dents or damage anywhere we have a very smart presence to enjoy. The weight is 52 grams which is heavy considering the 7 inches of chain. A versatile piece just, LOOK AT THAT NECKLACE!

I have a weakness for Italian silver jewelry and vanity pieces from the opening decades of the 20th c. and enameled compacts with figural decoration are a big favorite of mine. I admittedly don’t “powder my nose” yet these small treasures are worthy of being proudly displayed as miniature works of art. The richly-colored, very nicely detailed courting scene at the center of the compact at hand is a marvel in and of itself...
