Rare sterling cuff by modernist Caroline Gleick Rosene, San Francisco, c.1951. It is very difficult to find this silversmith's work. Signed "ROSENE HAND MADE STERLING" and is in excellent condition except for a missing small silver ring that is easily replaceable. Made of heavy gauge silver, it is 1 1/4" wide and is 7 1/2" inside circumference. Great and original design which illustrates the greatness of this artist.....$13 for insured USA shipping plus applicable NY sales tax.
A modernist brooch by noted mid century silversmith, Frances Holmes Boothby in Sterling Silver and Ebony. This large marlin measures 3 3/4" long and 1 1/2" tall. Lightly hammered. Marked fhb, Sterling on the back. Has a safety rollover clasp that holds tightly. Nice condition, just a few minor scratches and a little tarnish. A wonderful example of Mid Century Modern jewelry.
Constructionist brooch by important jewelry maker Sam Kramer, who produced avant-guarde jewelry in his New York based shop in the 1950s. This interesting piece consists of two arked triangular shaped pieces, which move freely on a tall silver bar. This allows the pieces to move up, down, and side to side, but not to move out of the crossed configuration. Corretly signed with Kramer's distinctive mushroom hallmark as shown. This vintage Mexican necklace is appropriately marked and signed for Los Castillo and with eagle mark. This piece is a statement and not for the faint of heart at 111 grams. This Fred Davis Silver & Amethyst Necklace has a classic design with bezel set Amethyst cabochons set at the center of four silver domes, a design that has been a favorite for both jewelry artists and collectors. The bold design of this cuff features Viking influences, with embossed traditional patterns on an oxidized background. The terminals are curved for easily slipping the piece over the wrist, and there are applied triangular plaques where a safety chain was attached. The bracelet is inscribed inside and dated 1967. The Georg Jensen post-1945 mark appears on the edge of one terminal, and the design number 78 is on the other. There is a 1/16-inch impact under one edge (see photo 5)...

This mid-century buckle bracelet is based on a design which originated with Antonio Pineda.
It's a stunning, rarely seen design. Striking, edgy, modernist, gorgeous. Opens wide to easily fit on the wrist. The buckle swings over the notch which fits into the groove on the buckle.
Closed, wearable length is about 6 3/4"...
